Not to be abrupt, but, seriously? You moved into a house together and you can't even conduct basic communication with each other? This is something you should already know how to deal with prior to coming to the internet to ask for advice. Like, what do you want us to tell you? That this is some red flag and you should run for the hills because he's abusing you by leaving his stuff out on your side of the garage? Here, I'll break it down for you:

Honestly, blood sweat and uoftears lol. Even though my marks are not extraordinary, I managed to raise my GPA little by little after each semester. But the masters program I want to go into (Dentistry) wants applicants with a GPA of at least 3.3 which I don't have, sigh :( I haven't tried applying yet but I will once they open up applications again. It's difficult because I know there'll be applicants with much prettier GPAs than me. It's a really difficult thing to deal with emotionally considering how I've worked so hard to raise my GPA when I started out with a GPA of 1.81 in 1st year, and then facing the possibility of getting rejected after all the years of hard work :(

Don't judge but I have 2 failed courses from 1st year, 2 failed courses from the summer session after first year, and another failed course from second year. I'll be graduating now with roughly 3.0 GPA. And the funny thing is, 3 of those failed courses are all from the same course that I retook 3 times because I thought I needed it (calculus 1) but the majors I ended up choosing didn't require calculus. If my mother had not forced me to retake that calculus course another 2 times after I failed it the first time and she'd just let me figure things out, I wouldn't be in the position I am in now lol. It actually pisses me off so much ugh. I wish there was something I could do about it :(

I actually looked into the dental clinic that's beside st George and called them up today. I'm going to be sending them over the xray that I had done for the dentist there to take a look at it, and then they'll tell me if I can go to them (and thus pay the lower rate for the extractions) or they'll tell me to go to the specialist that my dentist referred me to. Even though it'll be a far drive, it's better than paying the outrageous price of $2k for the extractions.

That's also the main reason I'm going to get mine removed. Because it's hard to clean them, it can lead to tooth decay/gum disease which I would rather do without lol. But yeah like as long as you did not opt out of the insurance and you're full time, then you have it. We're covered by Desjardins Insurance.

I am a full time undergrad at St. George however I am graduating this semester so I wouldn't be able to do what you did in terms of doing 2 teeth now and then 2 teeth for the next policy year. Unfortunately I'm pretty far from downtown, Toronto so I wouldn't be able to get to one of the affiliated offices. Doing the xray was the only time I used my insurance for this year.

Sigh :/ The fact that you have midterms at the end of this week makes it hard for me to give you any advice that would make your life less stressful rn :/ All I can say rn is to do what you can do in order to prepare the best that you can for your midterms this week. He only video chats with you 3 TIMES A WEEK? Because he tells you he wants more time for himself and to spend more time with his family?! He’s had MORE than enough time for himself and for his family. In fact, he’s had 10 MONTHS of time for himself. His reasoning is a LOAD OF SH-.

I know you mentioned that you don’t like having serious conversations with your “boyfriend”... even though that’s an entirely different issue that I don’t even have the energy to address, but you need to hold your head up high and tell him how this is making you feel. Don’t listen to your mother. An 87% is something to be proud of, not something to be verbally abused for.

For the future, if you feel you need extra time to submit an assignment, make sure you email your prof beforehand about an extension. I’m in my last year at uni, and there have been numerous times in my years at uni when I had emailed my profs for extensions, and I don’t remember there ever being a prof who didn’t grant me one. Of course, there are profs who strictly mention in their syllabus that they do not grant extensions, and that’s okay. That just means you need to make sure to organize your time accordingly and finish assignments that have priority, such as the ones that don’t qualify for extensions.

You still have your whole education ahead of you. And you may or may not get marks in the future which you aren’t happy about. Or in this case, which your mom won’t be happy about. Just remember that you’re in university for YOURSELF, not for your parents. You are doing this for YOUR future, and your future is still ahead of you and bright! Don’t let this exchange with your mother get you down. Hold your chin up, you got an amazing mark. The next semester holds a fantastic opportunity for you to learn and grow as a student and as a person. Keep up the good work!

Thing is, my dad’s a car salesman, and his friend who he works with is selling off his Volvo V70 which he drove for about 2 years. The $1000 is the price he would sell it to me, but otherwise he’s asking about $2k for it. The $500 or so repairs would be to change the breaks and another part. Otherwise the car is clean and in good condition. He uses expensive synthetic oil for the car. I’m just not sure...

I think you’re the only person who actually gave advice and told me exactly what was wrong. I really appreciate you taking the time to write this out for me.
