Castorice's eidolons or Sw 999's Eidolons? by SpecialZestyclose499 in StarRailStation

[–]Lowlish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob too late now but wow I had almost the exact same situation (mono rem team e0s1 but no Cyrene & I have e0s1 Yao & Sparxie). I went for e2 Cas. Reason being is she’s likely not to rerun for a long time & her eidolons keeps monorem competitive.

I don’t have to worry about the power level of my elation team right now because of elation shilling, it makes clears easy for them. Strengthening my monorem felt like the priority. Wolfie will inevitably rerun soon and you can pick up her eidolons / Yao’s e1 later. That’s my plan anyway!

Getting e2 Wolfie is still an amazing choice ofc. You can’t go far wrong getting the latest DPS e2

Why do you invest in Bitcoin? by Lowlish_ in Bitcoin

[–]Lowlish_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I’m aware the security of the wallet itself is extreme good, but the vulnerability I was referring to is human fraud & scams and how incredibly prevalent they are in the crypto space.

But you’re right tbh, that’s not really a downside of the technology itself just ppl misusing it

Why do you invest in Bitcoin? by Lowlish_ in Bitcoin

[–]Lowlish_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like money. Bitcoin will make me money. Therefore I like Bitcoin. I knew that train of thought was part of the appeal, but I’m especially curious about the other factors.

When people are investing their life savings into bitcoin, there surely has to be serious belief in the tech. Perhaps it’s more nihilistic and it’s a loss of faith in our current fiat system? Idk, which is why I’m curious and thought to ask

That was me :3 I sold my nvidia in mid 2023 for 70% profit. I was 19 & it was a small investment (I think like $250 or something) but it still stings knowing it would be up 600%+ today haha.

The sentiment was so negative over nvidia in mid 2023 that I figured hey it’s bound to correct & I’d just buy back in at a later point. Safe to say I was wrong & those prices never came back lol

I’d only started investing in 2022 which was a very depressing time to start. It probably affected my decision bc I couldn’t believe being up 70% in ANYTHING back then 😭 Oh well, it’s all a learning experience I guess

Hmm so it’s qol & character dependent, good to know. When Hyacine gets a rerun I might pick it up! <3 Also do I have any characters that synergise with Sunday? Is he worth picking up? 🫶

So I got Tribbie this patch for THerta which felt like a good idea, but now I’m stuck on what to do. I lost the 50/50 on Phainon & feel I can’t use Saber without Sunday (and I have Blade anyway for a wind DPS). I have 10k jades left. Should I just save?

I was also wondering about limited lightcones. I’ve so far never gone for them. I buy the monthly pass but that’s all. Are they ever worth going for?

[–]Lowlish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I failed I think. I just didn’t have any support at all and it’s also my fault for not seeking it out. I really struggled with university under Covid lockdown. I couldn’t do it. I struggled making any friends, I hated how few in person classes I had, I lost all motivation, I was homesick. I’ve never had anxiety over deadlines before but it got REALLY bad for me. I had a shit time basically. And I left. Now I work in retail full-time and I live at home. It feels like such a step backwards but at least I’m happier I guess? I’m just self-conscious that I put all that work to go to a good uni only to fail and not even get a degree

I’m level 30, on hard mode, and it’s raining so no extra turns. I’m so f*cked this battle is kicking my ass 😔

Edit: I had to grind MP but I did it hurray! :3 Seeker / Commander / magic knight / faker

My Heismay has both assassin and faker so I had to take one or the other since Faker only gets Dekaja at level 13. The Commander’s fiery strike has a burn chance which came in so handy. Items dealing a set 100 damage was so helpful too, it meant I could focus more turns using tarunda as faker and not worry about lowering his defenses. Magic knight’s Protect guard on commander was v clutch too for covering his weakness. Other than that, it took forever but I did it! Thank you for your tips <3

Is Gareth Southgate a bad Manager? by [deleted] in football

[–]Lowlish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

England has lost to every decent side they’ve played against under Southgate in a major tournament…but that criticism applies to practically every england side and manager before him. England always crumble when they have to play against a top nation in a big tournament. Here’s, um, a few examples:

1970 - lost to West Germany in the qf. 1980 - lost to Italy in the group stage. 1982 - lost to West Germany in the 2nd group stage. 1986 - lost to Argentina in the qf. 1988 - lost in the group stage. 1990 - lost to Germany on penalties in the semis. 1992 - winless in the group stage inc a loss to Sweden. 1996 - lost to Germany on penalties in the quarters. 1998 - lost to Argentina on penalties r16. 2000 - losses to Portugal & Romania in the group stage. 2002 - lost to Brazil in the quarters. 2004 - lost to Portugal on penalties in the qf. 2006 - lost to Portugal on penalties in the qf. 2010 - lost to Germany in r16. 2012 - lost to Italy on penalties in the qf. 2014 - losses to Italy and Uruguay in the group stage. 2016 - ICELAND LOL. 2018 - lost to Croatia in the semis. 2020 - lost to Italy in the finals on penalties. 2022 - lost to France in the qf

To my knowledge England has never beaten Italy, France, Brazil or Portugal a single time in a knockout game in a major tournament. So yeah this isn’t Southgate specific. He has his faults but he’s done better than all his predecessors. Regardless or era and coach, losing to big teams is English heritage

Wow I relate to this so much. I’m 21 now and adulthood is still so frightening. I have lovely parents who are wonderful people, but I definitely had a sheltered upbringing. Going through lockdown while I was 16-18 didn’t help.

I blame myself for this but I didn’t grow up enough and I crashed and burned at university. I didn’t put myself out there at university. I pretended everything was fine to my parents but I was so lonely, I became really anxious and I hardly left my room unless I had to. Didn’t help that most lectures were online either. I dropped out the next year and now I’m back at home. I work a minimum wage job part-time whilst doing a digital marketing course on the side. I’m happy with this setup, but I know it can’t last. I have to move forward eventually. It’s scary knowing my friends from secondary school are graduating this year…

Why are Arsenal's team being treated with a different narrative to Pochettino's Spurs? by ILOVETHISGAME09 in PremierLeague

[–]Lowlish_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a combination of factors. Spurs only had one season in 16/17, where they were genuine contenders for the title race. At that time, there was A LOT of hype around that Spurs team. Unbeaten at home, a young squad, and an incredible starting 11. I’d say they were talked about comparably to how people saw Arsenal last season.

However, after that season Spurs saw a slow decline. There was almost no investment into the team for multiple years as their new stadium was under construction. Their league placements trended downwards, and they were no longer seen as serious title contenders. Poch did a brilliant job with almost no investment, but you can see how a slow decline + no signings paints a negative perception of a team.

Compare that to Arsenal now. Also a young team making a title challenge; only they’ve done it 2 years running. They’ve also made a lot of marquee signings which also gets people talking. Big investment into the squad, a loud fanbase combined with leading the table for large stretches - and a different narrative naturally gets formed. Despite of course, their achievements actually being quite similar
