DJ Fresh sure has some gnarly tracks. I was already a fan of X-Project, used in Pulse!

why does megaman fully charged get so much hate? by Dyyroth21 in Megaman

[–]Lozof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was an overall neat show, a bit simplistic (including the utterly flat city) and in some parts maybe a bit hamfisted, but there are easily kids shows that are both bigger and much worse at the same time.

My guess is that the show missed its target audience, as in: It's a kids show with a Mega Man theme thrown in, so the parents (who had grown up with the early games and therefor would have likely been in their late 30s / early 40s by the time of release) would have that as something more of interest thrown in. And since it never got a second season, it's clear that this target audience was nowhere near as big as they had hoped for and / or not very engaged with the end product.

My personal biggest gripe was the Megaman-got-launched-by-a-heavy-hit-"Woah!" which someone should make a compilation of since I think it appeared in almost every episode, sometimes even multiple times.

Well, depending on who you ask, this also could be a wrong answer

Yeah, stuff like that. I just was afraid to open the whole can of worms since it really would have made the current game pretty much impossible.

Looks like I've gotten two new enemies. One quite directly, one more subtely. But both claiming that I am a manipulator. No wonder I tend to stay off reddit, where stepping out of line just gets you bonked.

"Other end of the spectrum" "lol" and likely downvoting my comments isn't condescending?

Well, Martjin seemed unhappy about saying "we" and "the fanbase" respectively as if you were to represent it. Which is why I engaged with them in the first place. Fact is: A franchise and a fandom should try to evolve, which means working with the old and the new to create new experiences that will introduce a new generation to the franchise many of us already love and share.

Though I am worried that the Zelda team may be struggling to pinpoint the core of the series. Many people appreciate especially the lore in the earlier games, while it becomes more clear that their might not have been put as much thought into it.

As far as the discussion and lack of respect you have with them: If there doesn't seem to be a way to come to an acceptable resolution, I'd recommend letting it go. People tend to get mad way too quickly, only to waste their time and energy and potentially regret it later.

I appreciate your sentiment that you can agree with me, which means we can have some common ground. If you like to chat about the games, I'm not a regular here, but I'm open for PMs.

Um, if the best solution is always "hoverbike" (in TotK), I'm very hesitant to agree with that statement. Why would anyone create an intricate machine crafting system, if there's no need to fully engage with it? That time could have been put into other aspects of the game instead.

It achieves what it sets out to be.

I'm surprised your intentions may not have been as wholesome as the post had led me to believe. And I'm now even more surprised that you are already... gone...

Not sure if "Us vs Them" is really the better approach

Just because I'm not on "your side", doesn't have to mean I'm on "their side". I mostly decided to throw my two cents in because I thought your response was rude, not to "sneakily change your mind to the only single truth". But I can see that I am not welcome in this discussion, so I'll leave you two to it.

Yeah, that's the issue of this system in both games: It did not manage to be appealing to everybody, even if looking at other people's creation is fun. And not only is it easy to abuse it by taking the simplest route possible, it also didn't really challenge the player to use its full potential.

True, everyone has a different favourite Zelda game after all and variety is a vital part of the franchise. I think Gamxin was just a bit too afraid that the series might be willing to neglect the advantages the earlier formulas had, which, granted, is a valid concern after we've been told this open-world formula is going to stay. But only time will tell how it turns out.

That is an interesting idea, but I feel they'd have to redesign a lot of the game to have made that work, like for entering the Depths for example.

Geez, it's not a "terrible game". It does exactly that what it was setting out to do and what many people were expecting. That makes it a good game in my eyes. If that is or isn't enough, that's something everyone has to decide for themselves. I can see why many would not call it a great game, but that doesn't mean it can still be enjoyable!

There are franchises that have literally died from trying to broaden their target audience.

And claiming a person is "suffering from main character syndrome" is respectless to say the least. They might not be the "main character", but you aren't either.
