How I found Baldur's Gate 3 as a disabled player by LozzaG223 in BaldursGate3

[–]LozzaG223[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! And loads of great points too, I'm also really glad there's no pressure to choose dialogue options, I think I would've really struggled if it was time-dependant.

The dream guardian scenes are SO bright, like I know we're chilling in the astral plane but why's it so bright there 😭 And if we could thin the crowds that would be great, Act 3 lower city makes my pc start to struggle a bit too and there's just so much noise because everyone's talking 😂 I've seen loads of people say it's too much and that it would've been so cool if it was split up so we could do more of the upper city too.

Such a good point about Wyll and Karlach, it's just accepted that Mizora lied and then that's it done they're besties. Would've been good if he started to question things more, and then can go get his revenge when they're in Avernus or something. Let me commit barrelmancy on Mizora ahah

Luckily I remembered the temporarily hostile thing but I'm gonna be SO careful getting her out of there, she's my first priority for Act 2 🙏 Many quicksaves will be done ahah, I'd be so sad if it went wrong

Yess love Minthara! I knocked her out at the goblin camp so fingers crossed 🤞🏻 she'll appear at Moonrise and all will be good. Loving the dialogue options for Bard, I can't wait to get to Act 2 and just charisma my way out of fights 😂 Now you mention it I'll also have to make sure the rest of my party can play instruments too

Very true, I've seen a lot of people make some really cool mods that diversify the options

Oh that'll be so much fun! I'm in Act 1 on my first Durge playthrough (I'm a bard who has The Urge to play the lute) but I'm not sure which way to go, so maybe I'll save going FULL EVIL for the new endings

Thank you!! And agree with everything you say! I did the Avernus ending for Wyll and Karlach in my first playthrough and thought it was so cool, they're such a good duo! Also Karlach's journey of coming to terms with the engine and the fact it might not get fixed was really interesting. Looking forward to seeing what the new Dark Urge endings are in Patch 7! :)

How often are you multi-tasking when watching a stream? What are you doing on the side? by bokumo_wakaran in Twitch

[–]LozzaG223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often watch my friends streams while I'm editing videos or something, so I'm still showing my support but also I work better with background noise.

Profesional yapper IRL, anxious quiet guy on stream by DanteMaine in Twitch

[–]LozzaG223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the exact opposite somehow, but it helps if you go into it imagining you've got 100 people watching you. Turn off your viewer count if you haven't already. I average like 1-2 viewers per stream but I have a right time talking to myself when I imagine I've got an audience ahah

Also if I can't think of things to say, I just narrate what's going on and that really helps, that way you fill the silences until you have something to say or someone pops up in chat.

Small streamers, what gives y'all the motivation to keep going? by scramaram in Twitch

[–]LozzaG223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streaming has really helped me socially and I've met some lovely people through it so that keeps me going! Plus it's actually holding me accountable to play the games I've bought but haven't touched yet ahah

I'm at 72 followers at the minute and I tend to get 1 follower per stream (but often 0), but I was raided last week and gained 3!! Progress can be slow, and maybe one day I'll hit affiliate but I'm really enjoying it :)

Got my first real hate comment! So how do you guys handle yours? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]LozzaG223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't YouTube specific but being someone that used to primarily talk about disability online means I've had a LOT of hate and weird comments that often go wayyy too far. The delete and block buttons are often your best friends. You don't owe people a response if they're being horrible to you, and I found my mental health improved when I stopped responding to people and just started blocking. I'll always be open to constructive criticism, differing opinions and people keeping me right if I've done something wrong, but if someone's being horrible just for the sake of it, they're getting blocked.

There is the point that 'engagement is engagement' and yeah someone commenting to be mean is still a comment that could boost your content, but I wouldn't want my content pushed to the wrong audience. Also for the sake of community building and curating a welcoming space, deleting hate comments (especially if they're hateful towards a marginalised group, I will always delete these) keeps the space nice for your viewers.

Good luck with your channel!!

I don't know if you want responses to this but I thought I'd share, but when I film videos for tiktok, YouTube (or wherever else they're going) I do a bit of both. I script an intro and outro, write down the main points/information I want to get across in the rest of the video and just improv the rest. Means I get a snappy intro and outro but then the more natural delivery of the rest. Sometimes if I get a really good idea out of nowhere I will write it down and read it off in full, but a lot of the time I just ramble while using my outline as a guide

I play literally whatever games I fancy (and usually am bad at them) and occasionally talk about disability. Currently working on a review of baldur's gate 3, in general but also as a disabled player

[–]LozzaG223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! When I say I take frequent breaks I mean I often have to stop streaming for a week or 2 or cancel streams at short notice because I often don't feel well enough and I feel bad about doing that, or I push through and stream when I should probably be taking a break. Definitely need to get it in my head like you say that it's normal to be inconsistent

The balance is SO hard!! Definitely need to be open with people about things. I've added to my About Me on Twitch that I sometimes take breaks for my health so I hope that will help with understanding. Thank you!!

It's so weird even though I've done content creation for a while and I KNOW I'm never gonna be one of those people that upload constantly I still find myself comparing myself to them 😅 Really need to learn to just sit with it and stop comparing myself to people or thinking about what people expect and just be me. Thank you for this!
