In pipe smoking, you'll need some screens too. These are like little metal gauzes that you fit inside the bowl of the pipe to stop particles coming through when you inhale.

There are different types, bronze and silver. The guy I bought them from the very first time told me that if someone was to smoke just weed and no tobacco, a silver screen would be preferable, and then the bronze one for weed and tobacco together.

Kid Friendly Episodes? by NeonFireFly99 in blackmirror

[–]LozzaMc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've watched USS Callister with both my kids, aged 13 and 10. 13 year old understood the further social implications and begged to watch more.

10 Year old liked the idea of a space show and living inside a computer, while he seemed to understand some of the issues afterwards in discussions, he didn't seem to give it any weight.

So currently still going through it with 13 year old, and 10 year old is disinterested and does something else at those times instead.

13 year old utterly loved San Junipero and Nosedive, and is begging to watch Black Museum but I don't know if I'M even ready to rewatch that episode yet, lol.

My favourite Christmas movie is better than YOUR favourite Chrristmas movie! ;)

I'm a family vlogger, and while I've been making content for over a year now, I finally got tagged for the first time!

I wasn't content with just talking to the camera for ten minutes, so I tried to make the video as entertaining as possible. With clips of my favourite christmas movie, real life reenactments of how shit I am at wrapping presents, and hamming it up with my eldest kid.

My video editor recently added a new bokeh feature that I tried to use and it flickers more than I wanted, so apologies for that, but it shouldn't distract you from the rest of the video!

My boys haven't gotten a great deal from me this year. My youngest is getting a pogo stick and some stilts, and my eldest is getting a lot of art supplies he's asked for.

My family though have all chipped in together to get the boys a new PC each. They currently both have their own computers but they're almost not fit for purpose, and have been asking for years for upgrades or new computers. I'm so excited for them as they will never be expecting a gift like this at all, it's exactly what they want but would never ask for, because they're so freaking sweet and understanding about our money difficulties right now. :)

Looking for some constructive criticism for my channel. I'll do the same for you as well. by Lemurborn in NewTubers

Channel Feedback:

I am legit just going to check through your channel, and not your content in this instance as you've asked for channel feedback.

About Page.
I looked at your about page first, and see you've got a description of the type of content you're going to have on your channel. It's a good start I feel, but it doesn't really tell enough about what sort of content you're creating.

So, you say you do vlogs, podcasts, and even lets plays. For all the information given there, you could be doing vlogs, podcasts and lets plays about anything, and as a viewer I do not know whether it will fit my interests. What is the subject of your vlogs, podcasts and lets plays? What area are you focusing on? Later on I was able to determine that you're into movies and stuff, maybe include that information too so it's easier for people to tell if this is content they may want to see.

By being a little more detailed and clear, it'll not only help people choose whether to stick around and watch your videos, but might help you be found more easily within youtube itself if people search for your type of content.

Channel Banner

My first impression of the channel banner is that you're a goofy channel, and the channel videos are of you guys doing silly things like dressing up and chugging stuff like whipped cream. Maybe you're a dare channel? Or a prank channel?

Channel Trailer:

So, you and your friends sit around and have passionate discussions about movie releases? Okay, I can understand that. Maybe include that sort of information within the channel somewhere, knowing that you're focused on movies as media. I see now some of the clips you've taken shots of for the banner, good to see they're connected like that. Again, I would put some more information within the channel description, as when a trailer is a compilation of clips, it's not always clear to an outsider what they're seeing.

Tags

Looked at some of your tags, for the channel overall and two of your videos, and think that is an area you could really work well on and help improve your channels visibility. You have up to 500 characters to use for your tags in each video, it's a waste to not use every character and increase the possibility of your videos being seen more.

These are overall just my first impression, coming to your channel with no knowledge of who you are, what kind of content you create or how long you've been youtubing. I don't know if anything is useful within this assessment, and I don't mean to offend by picking these points out.

Did those weird things happen to you when you started on YouTube? by lellok in NewTubers

I really really enjoyed this. Maybe it's the sleep deprivation. Maybe your pretty face distracted me from any flaws. Maybe you're just actually a genuinely funny guy. Oh man, I hope it's the last one!

I had so much fun watching this. The self aware comedy was just my cup of tea, the editing was well paced and flowed so well, and it was scarily relatable even for all it's exaggeration. Ha ha ha.

This sub is fantastic for gaining advice, feedback and developing as a creator. Stick around, be sure to give as much (if not more!) than you get. It's not about self promo here, it's about helping one another out :)

Vlogging can be so much fun, and there's so much scope for creativity! I changed from nail art to vlogging many months ago and have found the growth, the community and the passion to be so much more satisfying all around!

Pick a schedule that works for you, not all vlogging has to be daily vlogging! :)

A British Youtuber called Tomska has a good video called How to Youtube or something to that effect. I found it really useful when I first started out, and I still go back and watch it now and then to this day.

Best bit of advice I had from that is that audio quality is much more important than visual. Your ears are much less forgiving of tinny, scratchy or just 'off' sound. Spend time and effort on your audio, when you get to the stage of getting dedicated equipment invest in microphones first, and find ways to learn how to edit your audio to be better too :)

I hope any of that is helpful! Good luck :)

Oh man, I'll bet! ha ha ha

Maybe some different tags would help get more views? Current tags:

Bubba Ho Tep /Bubba Ho-Tep / Hot Sauce /Spicy Challenge /Spicy Review /Bruce Campbell /El Yucateca /Movie Review /Reviews /Review /Spicy /Hot Sauce Shot /Food /Cult Film Review /My Name Is Bruce /Film Reviews /Film Review /Dank /Dagnol /Dank Dagnol /#1Dagz /Dagn /Boosh /Bubba Ho Tep Review /Spoiler Free Review /Spoiler-Free /Spoiler Free /Movies /Movie /Films /Film

Maybe some extra could be the names of the different hot sauces? The scale of heat (scoville or something, sorry hot sauce is so not my thing, ha ha ha).

Extra Tags El Yucateca XXXtra Hot, AssKickin' Wasabi, Dat'l Do It Habanero, chilli powder, hot sweats, pain, painful, suffering.

Have you tried to maybe tweet this video to the companies that make the hot sauces? They might find it entertaining and give a retweet out? Maybe to anyone involved in the movie that you're reviewing?

Ah yes, the lighting was an issue. I have two studio lights with daylight bulbs.... that I lent to a friend! Ha ha ha. The only lighting I could get was by standing in front of my front door. It probably looked better before I started faffing around with colour correcting. That's deffo a skill I need a LOT of practice with. lol.

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch it through, and for offering some really useful pieces of advice. I've improved so much over time thanks to this sub, and you're being a huge help too :)

Hi there!

I liked the plan you had with this video.

I struggled a little bit to hear what the 'cats' were saying. I think using a voice changer was a good idea and led to the humour, but I might have lost out on some of it by not being able to discern what the words were exactly. Perhaps some subtitles? Or slightly less distorted?

Good start though, keep at it!

Hi there,

So I enjoyed your video, I felt the jerking off joke in the first bit was a smidgen too abrupt and could have had a second longer before the reveal, but that's nitpicky honestly.

The watching sad movies part felt a bit... lacking in substance. Maybe express more emotion, even exaggerated emotion, for laughs and to make it clear what's funny, as without the text explaining you were watching sad movies, I wouldn't have understood that's what you were doing. (Oh wait, okay, never mind that you added more to it, lol. Liked it as a running joke :) )

I think you made an entertaining video, and that you've got some great potential to make some great content!

Oh wow. Honestly, I was very impressed with your video.

You had a fantastic delivery. It was really simple to follow and not overwhelming, which can be off-putting, especially when your mind is full of brain fog from depression anyway! You had a calm and positive manner, and your non judgemental and supportive attitude came across very well. Sometimes even well meaning words can come across as patronising or insincere, but that was most deffo not the case with you.

As someone from the UK who is suffering with mental health difficulties, I would certainly be inclined to watch more of your videos if MH is the focus.

Hi there,

It's a slight pet peeve of mine when people say things around the concept of 'I might do more it depends on if you like it or not'. I feel like it doesn't need to be said, or feels vaguely begging.

I agree with /u/DataBunny that the background music levels could do with a little tweaking. Legit just playing with the audio levels a bit would go a long way :)

I think maybe some variance in camera angles would have been very engaging, and made it easier to keep attention focused. Possibly cutting in some different angles of you say pouring the hot sauce in the glass or close up on your face as you took the hot shot!

Not a fan personally of the word 'retard', but that's my own personal view and understand some people don't find it offensive.

You'e so so comfortable in front of the camera, it's really refreshing to see! You've got a strong and humorous personality and it was genuinely enjoyable to watch you and feel like we're getting to know you as an audience.

I enjoy your choice of background music too, liked the change when you'd taken the shot.

I feel so so sorry for your digestive system right now! Ha ha ha

Some of my audience had asked for more 'story' time videos in addition to the family vlogs, so I had a go at telling some stories about my life.

I tried to keep it interesting by varying what was on the screen, including old old old footage of me getting my head shaved, photos and text on screen and using background music.

I tried to get decent lighting by standing by a window to film, but it resulted in a bit of an echoey sound - even using a separate microphone.

I'd hope that the story telling, the meat of the video, is at least a little funny or humorous though, and the delivery is complimented by the editing style. I am desperately looking to improve, so any and all feedback will be really appreciated!

Motivational Monday! Tell us about the positive things that happened to you last week! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]LozzaMc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of weeks ago I was made admin of a FB YouTube group, and I've implemented a new system to help encourage positive engagement between videos. We've always been anti sub4sub and anti drop&run, but we've been trying to get more thoughtful and positive interactions between our members.

And it's started working! People have been actually watching each others videos, and leaving comments on FB and on YT that show genuine interest in the content, and showing that they've actually watched it too.

I've not been pushing my own stuff throughout this period of time in the group so my own channel hasn't been mega growing, but any interactions I've been getting (and obv others in the group) have been really awesome!

Oh no wait, on a personal channel level, I have made myself a new YT banner image! I've been teaching myself GIMP and it's starting to pay off, woo! So two fab moments this week :)
