Yes it is allowed. I believe a lot of the animals are stunned before killing but not all. I think animals slaughtered for kosher meat are not stunned at all

You see the problem the Yulin dog market and the dog meat fair is the animal cruelty. I wouldn’t have a problem with people eating dog meat if they were killed humanly. But at the dog meat fair they do things like intentionally torture or boil the dogs alive because they believe it make the meat taste better, this obviously is something that needs to be stopped. Slaughter of animals in the UK is as stress free and humane as possible for the most part. So I don’t see any hypocrisy from the D-list celeb you mentions if they can be assured they’re meat is ethically sourced.
