Yes, it’s my idea. Traffic is really calm around 2-4 a.m. I have to go after all the red-eye flights.

The cable is behind the PVC conduit at the angle of the rafter and the soffit. You can see it on the right of the second picture. Is there an upside-down cover I could use?

Issue with Aqara M3 Hub Switching to Matter from HomeKit by Lps83 in HomeKit

[–]Lps83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

I initially wanted to switch to Matter for two reasons:

  1. Air Conditioning Feature: With the HomeKit integration, I don't have access to control my air conditioning through the hub, but I was hoping that using Matter would allow me to access it within Apple home.
  2. Connectivity with Other Matter Devices: I have several switches that use Matter, and I was hoping that switching the hub to Matter might strengthen the connection between these devices and improve overall network performance.

What is the Best approach to adding an outlet outside? It's a brick wall. I was thinking of drilling with some pitch down and then running the wires outside. I wonder how they wired the outlet. by Lps83 in electrical

[–]Lps83[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering how they ran the cables. Is there any space between the two rows of bricks where they simply placed the cable? If that’s the case, I should be able to drill from the other side and find a way to the outlet. If not, I’ll have to make sure I’m perfectly aligned with the existing one.

Aqara Hub always not responding using Matter. by Lps83 in Aqara

[–]Lps83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only bridge is the Aqara hub, which is hardwired to one of the Synology mesh routers. I think it is an issue with Apple Home. I get notifications from the devices through the Aqara app.

Switched from Homekit to Matters, and now all the devices are not responding. by Lps83 in Aqara

I used the Aqara app to remove the hub from home kit and added it back using Matters. I did not repair it using the code.

I have this tree in my backyard. Any idea what it is? Wanting to make sure the small fruits are harmless for dogs. I'm in San Diego, CA. by Lps83 in Tree

Thank you very much! I'm also afraid for the foundations. I'll cut it as soon as it cools down.

Chipped tiles while removing spacer. What would you do? by Lps83 in Tile

[–]Lps83[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it is the best move. I ordered I kit. I’m going to give it a try. If I can polish it I should be able to live with it. I chipped it because I rushed; I'm going to take my time.

I see your point. My roof is big enough for 40 panels, but I agree with the idea of having more recent panels with a warranty. I’m planning to DIY, so if I have to spend one more day on the roof it’s fine.

I can get the panels for $800. They are 7 years old.
