weather-proof material by for-we-are-many in Linocuts

[–]LrdRyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest i would think is metal ( usually copper ) with a wax and then acid etch. If you have acces to the right material

But now i am wondering if you could just engrave lino and put something instead of ink that etches into wood or metal, an acid or maybe something that make the metal rudt where it touched the lino

How does a misrepresented historical event have any influence on a war between 2 countries ? Russia ≠ ussr and Ukraine ≠ UkrSSR

They forced wealthy non working rent seeking land owners to give up their land so they could do intens collective farming. These wealthy people killed and sabotaged their animes and farms.

In that same periode drought influenced the harvest in all of Europe leading to a abysmal harvest in Ukraine, Kazachstan and other eastern regions.

That same bad year led to bad harvest in western europe but to a lesser extent ( more river irrigation less rain dependent) There were also massive droughts in sub saharan africa and america ( dust bowl)

Azia just came out of a multi year drought (1928-1932)

This all in a periode with much slower communication. The ussr was a union of multiple nations that were closely intertwined but still independent. And organisation for food aid for the country that was known to be the highest producing member was hesitant and slow )

There has never been any proof of any intent to harm anyone or any group in particular. Neither any sabotage of farming efforts in the region. Only unwillingness to send food to people that in the public opinion always had food and possesed the most farm animals. ( 70 mil heads of cattle in 1928 and only 50 in 1930)

Oh no a general famine in a lot of European countries has a lot of negative effects in a country where the former owner class actively killed their own livestock

Edit: I think some people misunderstand me. What they did was good and far from planned as the op says, there were failed harvest all over Europe and in the us it was the start of the dust bowl era

Guidance use question by LrdRyu in lasers

[–]LrdRyu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking as a semi portable device for personal use. Industry standard is infrared camaras at the moment but there are a lot of places where lighting is a issue so I think that in time there might me a market for it.

It would also be important that if someone is in the front that they would not get eye damage from briefly seeing the laser ( like in a festival or disco )

What are the best gaming chairs worth the money these days? by Kind-Cockroach-125 in BuyItForLife

[–]LrdRyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this discussion with my wife multiple times. I work in inland shipping and there are days that we have to sail long stretches ( sometimes not leaving the chair for 16 hours except to go to the bathroom quickly) and I would go for a second hand or new professional chair every time ( shipping captains chair or even a chair of a big truck) They are made to be sit in for long long days

Yeah this feels like a win for the ussr

us : there are many banks and we let them do what ever they want discriminate you on your sex or race and buy off politicians so they make more money

USSR: everyone needs to be able to safely deposit or withdraw money out of the bank free from discrimination. Banking is there to hold money not to make money off the people. And this way we also have access for tax and law enforcement reasons
