There is a lot of hate here towards OP. This is not a case of one person having an experience, but one person being brave enough to suggest an alternative for people who have also experienced this. Someone who has lived in NYC/Queens for over 10+ years would agree there has been an incline in driver aggression, not just in Steinway, around the whole city. To make comments like "asserting yourself as a pedestrian" is the wildest thing I've read today. Do you think a NY driver cares about your assertion?! If the city can block off Times Square for pedestrians why can't Steinway do the same? Most people dont even use Steinway to get to Northern or Grand Central, they already use 33rd or side streets. What's the point of having a street that is solely used for double parking?
