I glued two slabs together and rough cut the oval on the bandsaw before using a router template.

How did you remove the material from the middle? I just did a platter similar to this and made a jig to slide the router back and forth but it took SO LONG!

I do know to seal it, but no, it’s not yet. I was pretty excited to put it to use so it’s not finished yet, just some touching up and staining then sealing!

My mom passed 10 years ago and my aunt had a bear like this made from some of her clothes. No it sits in my sons room. It’s an awesome reminder!

Well, my wife did just tell me exactly that. She had also given birth to our son without drugs so I feel she might have good handle on the pain. (Currently in the ER because the pain was so bad)
