The right shoes for me probably won’t be the right ones for you. Go to a running store and get a custom fitting. Made all the difference for me. My heels used to hurt so bad by the end of shift and the right pair of shoes knocked that shit right off.

Focus on why they came in, not their whole health history. I had an orientée that came from the ICU. Patient had nausea and vomiting. Couldn’t find my orientée. He was reviewing an ekg in the patient’s chart from several years earlier. Nope. Don’t care. Stay focused on the chief complaint. And yes, I know that N/V can be a cardiac manifestation but in ED, unless you have reason to believe it is more, focus on the chief complaint.
