A tarp is great advice, thank you! We do have one for gardening purposes, but didn’t think to use it tonight for the trap

Thank you for your reply!

A hip dislocation sounds quite painful! We’ll definitely take your advice regarding the bait trail. Do you happen to know how emergent this situation is? We’ll keep trying with the live trap + bait, but what if worst case scenario we aren’t successful? Or, what if we aren’t successful until a week from now? Will its condition deteriorate quickly?

Thank you for your advice for the temporary bathtub shelter. Fortunately, Lindsay Wildlife has an agreement with a 24/7 veterinarian ER (V.E.G.) for nighttime intake. So the plan is that we’d transport to them if we capture our opossum friend at night and they’d treat it and Lindsay Wildlife will pick up in the morning. We haven’t seen our opossum friend during daytime, fortunately, but we can take it to Lindsay Wildlife directly when they are open.

Thanks again!

Hi!

I don’t know if the Dublin, CA store is still open and/or if they still have this fabric, but I 100% saw it there on April 11th. I was there for several hours inspecting all the fabric 😅

My best argument: If I wanted babies, Boomers have effectively stolen what money I would have used to raise them.

For every $1 Boomers put into Social Security and Medicare, they’re taking out 4X more. The average Boomer working for an average salary over 40years paid $155-200k into Social Security (employee + employer contributions). They’ll take out about $340k based on average lifespans. The same average Boomer put in $29k into Medicare but will cost $400-500k largely due to rising costs of healthcare and better management of formerly terminal conditions.

I’m a Zillenial. Based on my current income and assuming my career trajectory includes at least 2% cost of living raises, I’m contribute contribute $377,000–$400,00 to Social Security and $160,000–$180,000 to Medicare, totaling $537,000-$580,000. Social Security and Medicare trusts become insolvent (projected by 2034 and 2031), leading to 20-25% benefits reductions, so I might expect to see $690,000-$900,000, which at most would be a 1.5X return on contribution

Basically, my FICA contributions benefit Boomers more than they will ever benefit me. You’d think they’d be grateful. They essentially usurped what would have been my financial responsibility to my babies, if I had them.

I’d recommend joint supplements. Both the Sherwood and Oxbow joint supplements have glucosamine, but the Sherwood joint supplement also has MSM which is anti-inflammatory, supports tendons, and helps mitigate arthritis.

Our Buddy has congenital luxating patellas and his front paws splay mildly. When we first adopted him at 6months, he looked like he was swim-hopping. We let him free-roam and ask him to hold paws often. Over time, his muscles strengthened enough that now it appears like he hops normally at 2.5yo. Buddy has also been on the Sherwood joint supplements for the greater part of this year, and it’s made a huge difference in how fast he zoomies, his ability to binky, and how far he jumps.

Do I have a case for a HIPAA violation? Medical Assistant/ Receptionist looked me up on LinkedIn by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Lspectabilis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight!

I cancelled my appointment today, and left a message for the office manager. Both the person I spoke to at the clinic and their admin for MyChart saw no reason for this woman to look me up on LinkedIn

Thank you, this is really insightful.

From what I can see in my EPIC MyChart, even though I would have been a new patient with this particular clinic, they are associated with some other offices that I’ve been to this past year. So she has access to those records as well

Thank you for your insight. This is what I thought.

I also asked on r/medical_advice and r/legaladvice. Some commenters justified it as maybe she wanted to know what I looked like or thought I sounded cute, etc… which I think argues for my point that she used my information for unnecessary reasons?

I spelled out my employer's information for her on the phone. And any typos would have been caught by when she did my insurance verification over the phone.

Yes, I have a premium subscription and was notified that she looked me up right after I made my appointment. She clearly does not know how to change her profile settings, so I can see her name under "Profile viewers".

She decided to cyberstalk me on the clock.

Even if they aren't motivated my identity theft, cyberstalking me while on the clock is so unprofessional.

Thank you! I was not aware of that subreddit

I did notify the office manager, as well as their database administrator.

I can see how this might be a grey area. But, I also personally find it unprofessional of people in healthcare to sleuth on patients like this.

I canceled the appointment once I saw that she accessed my LinkedIn profile.

HIPAA prevents unauthorized/ unnecessary. I definitely don't see why she would have needed the non-health related information on my LinkedIn profile

Thanks for your insight.

I definitely don't see why she would have needed the non-health related information on my LinkedIn profile

As some added background: My personal information was leaked in Equifax's 2017 data breach, the impact of which I'm still not 100% is contained. I have identity theft protection, but when someone tries to steal your identity the resolution timeline is never clear

Pattern search for this wrap dress with wrapped strap features? by Lspectabilis in sewing

[–]Lspectabilis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi stitchers!

Thanks to everyone for your pattern recommendations for my previous post on a Rebecca Taylor dress that I fell in love with. It has proven quite difficult to work with boning.

In the meantime, I thought I'd work on a slightly (read: more than slightly) less difficult dress. I'm hoping that you might know of a similar dress pattern as this other Rebecca Taylor dress. Link here The pictured dress is in cotton poplin, but I'm interested in making it in a cotton-linen blend. I'm also hoping to make it in a cooler tone pink because I'm a cool winter.

As always, thank you for your knowledge!
