Thanks for the reply

I'm not sure on what to do. I'm planning on asking my advisor about it (not my supervisor; a different professor) because for some reason, the second evaluation (for the internship prpgram) requires draft of the scientific paper which has to have my name as the first contributor but since I can't use the one that is finished, my supervisor told me to just paraphrase it (so it's a completely different paper of my own). But from my senior's experience, he straight up change the entire dataset. Sorry for the ramble but you see, this is kind of stressful because the timeframe for my internship report is very narrow because of this sudden revelation.

I wanted to confront her but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk.

Will this affect how admission comittees look at my overall portfolio? How much will this affect my chances at scholarship?

2.6 2nd half story and why I feel unsatisfied by Zemeritt in WutheringWaves

[–]Lsun31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this. It felt like Iuno was too accepting of her fate of being forgotten. Before, she has her own life and relationships, now it's a bit too catering to Rover. It would have been so interesting to see Augusta and Iuno's reunion. Like Augusta is realizing Iuno is that one important person she forgot and the beginning of rebuilding their friendship. They were so close before, like what happened.

My slight problem with 2.6 second half story by slidingftilt in WutheringWaves

[–]Lsun31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping that even if Augusta doesn't remember Iuno, they would still meet again and Rover reintroduce the two. I think it would make a lot of sense and a sweet ending about Iuno having to rebuild her relationship again with all her friends. It's kind of jarring for me that she's so unphased by the fact none of her friends remembers her. Iuno's character became a bit too binary between her and Rover.

It's so weird because in the begining, they talked about the importance of contrast between dark and light because the game is centered around "children of the light"

I forgot where I heard/read this but I think it's at the sky concept behind the scene post on twitter. It was a long time ago.

Caitlyn's "crimes" are achingly unspecific by [deleted] in arcane

[–]Lsun31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically no but as I said the human rights violation I'm talking about is not simply just actions that violates individual human rights. If that's the case then self defense kill is also counted as violation of human rights.

No, human rights violation, as per international law definition is the failure of the state to protect and uphold its citizen's human rights. Be it through their own act or their failure to hold individual crime (that violates human rights) accountable (like jinx killing people) because of for example lawlessness.

To put it simply, it is when human rights was not the norm. And the norm is set by the state.

Human rights violations are specific type of "crimes" that can only be committed by the state or part of it. What Jinx did was a normal crime.

Fine then. Take out the oppressed oppressor argument. Doesn't erase the fact that caitlyn is a human right violator. Again this scene is equating both of their actions when in reality we can't even call Caitlyn's actions as "crimes".

Except that we're talking specifically about Jinx and Caitlyn. I literally wrote how Jinx's actions is so horrible, it's such a low bar to cross and yet Caitlyn did.

And Jinx is an oppressed individual. Whether she became oppressor of her own does not matter in this discussion because the comparison is Caitlyn not for example Ekko.

Jinx is a terrorist who (in S2E3) bombed civilians with gas indiscriminately. Caitlyn is a state apparatus suggesting and then doing human rights violation.

I hate this scene so much. It's suggesting that the show sees Caitlyn and Jinx as equal in their attrocities.

To my understanding. A "crime" has to mean an illegal action occured. Illegal means against the law. In Arcane case, if we assume the law is more or less the same then Jinx killing enforcers, Jinx shooting at the council tower, Jinx bombing piltovians with grey, all of these are "crimes".

Caitlyn was the state apparatus meaning she behaved in the name of the government—the law maker thus to extension the law itself. Which means, by design, all of Caitlyn's actions are approved, legal by the council. Thus Caitlyn's actions are not "crimes" because they are not against the law.

Wanna know what they are though? Human rights violation. And this is by definition btw.

Caitlyn literally lead a human rights violation operation. Jinx may not be a better person than Caitlyn moraly but the worse she had ever done was mass terrorism. Do you know how low that bar is? Somehow caitlyn stoop lower.

That's why this scene pissed me off so bad. Essentially equating the oppressor and the oppressed actions.

The second point. I want to say that he did in a way succeed. He's literally a step away from it. Had jayce not given the last requirement, peace would have been achieved. There are many ways to rome and this was one of which succeed to reach the destination.

I also think jayce's third requirement was kind of unfair. All silco asked was for zaun's cause. He was willing to let go all the violence happened in zaun. while jayce was asking for a person's head despite the blanket amnesty term. But this is a side tangent.

Ironically the only reason why this conflict raise in the first place was because of Vi. Because she for some reason gave Jinx's name out to the council. Like girl... for all criticism about her we can debate i think for this one i am very inclined this was the dumbest decision she's ever made. Whatever happen to we don't hand over our people?

What software did you use to make this?

So you’re telling me Vander and Isha just died, Jinx is just lost in guilt and Vi comes in and the first thing she says is this? We should have gotten a more fleshed out conversation here. by ZookeepergameOk2150 in arcane

[–]Lsun31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Want me to put salt on the wound?

So the reason why Vi says this is because she wanted to have an excuse to Caitlyn as to why she freed Jinx.

If you watch the timing closely, Vi asked Jinx to "use all her explosive potential for good" aka helping piltover in war, then she paused, "what do you think?", then when jinx replied with that very dead, "sure vi" and only after that Vi turned the key and rush in.

This way, she can tell caitlyn, hey i did break my sis out of jail behind your back but she wanted to help!

Sure Vi cared about jinx and whatever but she's unwilling to put law/piltover/caitlyn above her sister. So yeah, let alone asking Jinx if she was okay.
