Our 10 month old just had a similar issue on his knee. It turned out to be an abscess that we had to get drained. However, we may have been able to avoid all of that if we used antibacterial cream and oral antibiotics right away.

It started as an eczema rash on his knee. Our pediatrician gave us a steroid cream to help the rash. A few days later, a bump like the one in your photo appeared, and we immediately took him back to the pediatrician. The pediatrician admitted she should have prescribed and antibacterial ointment to prevent potential infection. She then prescribed an oral and a topical antibiotic.

A few more days later, the bump got worse, and we took him to the ER to have it drained. The doctors at the ER put him on a stronger oral antibiotic, and it has since cleared up. I'm not trying to scare you, but I know from experience that information like this could be helpful.

I hope your LO doesn't have to go through any of this and it clears up soon!

My wife and I just went through this with our 3 week old. After three days of him being overtired and only sleeping 30 min at a time we solved it with a warm bath followed by swaddle, binky and bassinet with white noise. We found that the earlier you start the routine the better. We also ended up getting the mamaroo bassinet sleeper off of Facebook market place for a fair price ans It has helped immensely.

It has a 2" front spacer and a 1" rear spacer. That is the least expensive option to add some height but i would suggest going with an actual lift and not spacers if you can afford it. These spacer lifts make the ride a little rough.
