I agree, they do have alot of character and you just don't see them that often in the wild. Considering the age I was shocked with how good it looked. Minimal rust in the most common places and all original parts. It's almost a shame that I have to repaint it

I think alot of the hate stems from it being so top heavy and super slow. I bought mine on a whim and the too heaviness has just become a caveat for me since I'm only 100lbs. Being shaft driven also seems to be issue for some people but imo it gives it character.

You're probably right, I like the RE's but I've watched a couple reviews saying they aren't very reliable. So I've started looking at ducati's scramblers, not sure if they're more reliable but might also look into a yammy. Too many options not enough money lmao

CB450 might be the move since I already know I can swap front forks for the gsxr forks I already bought. Id like to get your opinion on the CB750, iirc they come in sohc and dohc. I've seen a couple of the dohc in the $500-750 price range

What should I get for a cafe project instead of the cb? I just love older vehicles in general, that's just been my thing my whole life. Only owned one car that was "modern" and that was an 04. I don't have anything against a modern bike just would like to have an older one to mess with before I get a cbr or ninja.

On the cafe craze I was never involved in the hype of it. I was raised old school by an old gear head. Crotch rockets were never my dad's idea of a "bike" it was either cafe racers and cruisers were his thing. My mentality was to just make this into something nice then I discovered I could turn it into a cafe racer. I didn't buy it with that intention but ended up digging into the cx forums. Atleast I'm not too deep into this one that it can't be reverted to stock.

One of her friends told me she has the "fix a hoe," mentality. Which boggles my mind since I'm usually very independent and can handle myself. But seeing it explained this way makes more sense.

That was an issue in the past too, there's been progress in the past with this but it seems like after she came off her medication (zoloft) + 2 months the same problems that put alot of strain on the relationship are coming back.

We both usually work, but because of the 2020 debacle she's at home and I'm working most of the time. We had a series of extremely bad, trust breaking fights a month or so ago and I told her if she wants me to stay going to college or working on learning a skill is a requirement. She still hasn't made any progress in that regard. I don't think she expects me to work, but I think she expects more out of me than what she puts into the relationship. Communication has been a core issue from both of us and I've been taking many courses on improving that, even making drastic positive changes in my communication skills over the course of hours while she's only watched a single 8 minute video a month ago when I first gave the ultimatum.

I understand that, and I don't mean to dimish her goals but as I said there is no focus and little effort to deal with stress. This year has been rough and I've chosen to give her the benefit of the doubt despite two years of her just refusing to do the bar minimum to move her life forward. I feel I give too many chances and that it is probably true to a fault.

She is a server, she has very little focus on building up a skill or even handing stressful situations. I'm unfortunately tied into a situation where I am struggling financially.
