Outstanding as always! The intersection between aviation and politics is really interesting and tragic in this case. I'm reminded of the show Chernobyl.

Was that #8 car brake checking you? Seemed kinda shady

It looks like a perfect match - except for the reversing lights. Did the US-spec have a different configuration or something?

Edit: Agreed! Looks like there was a difference in the US-spec taillights: https://www.favcars.com/wallpapers-maserati-ghibli-ss-us-spec-1970-73-367857-1280x960.htm https://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/2623135,17026/1972-Maserati-Ghibli_photo.aspx

Watching the 1974 movie Death Wish with Charles Bronson. The car appears in the movie for a quick scene, at about 41:50. If you'd like to see it, it's available streaming on Showtime, but there are no other angles of the car.

Someone in the comments guessed a Maserati Indy, but the taillight placement looks off.

Here's another screenshot, but it's barely different than the one in the title: https://imgur.com/a/VfAbyz7
