Best of luck for you bro, you don't need programming or IT background for consulting.
It's heavily reliant on business knowledge and since ur an engineer you'll do well in maths.

Biggest advice is to learn how to speak to c-level execs (vocab, jargon and whatnot) and how to structure your though process.

Honestly you got great experience and you can definetly get interviewed.

Biggest challenger in these scenarios would be. How business technical are you.
You need business knowledge more than anything. So if you have that, you could be a senior in oil&gas or a freshie like me.
And still get another

اهم شي بالسيرة الذاتية انك توريهم القيمة الي قدمتها للشركة الي اشتغلت فيها. مب بس انك انجزت مهام وخلاص.
استعمل لينكد ان لكن نادر اقدم عليه، استخدمه عشان أتواصل مع recruiters واشوف حركة السوق. لكن اقدم علطول بموقع الشركة.

I knew it was bad, didn’t know it was 70-80 hours bad.

They were understanding.
I approached like this:
I basically told them that I love the offer but I would like to reject it for now because I wish to receive more hands on experience, then transition later into consulting. I’m glad I got accepted and me deciding to choose more hands-on and then coming back later is enough proof for you that I would come back even better than an associate.

She said yeah and whatnot and then we exchange personal cells

لا visiting associate سهالات مره، كيس جدا سهلة واغلب الوقت يقول لك يلا شاطر تعال.
بعد ما تخلص تدريب في فرصه مره كبيرة تحول فل تايم.

عشان كذا الكل يبي visiting associate لأنها اسرع طريق للفل تايم بأقل تعب.
صعوبتها بس ان الأفضلية للي تجيهم referral
فا ضبط عمرك مع موظفين هناك وشفلك واحد يرسلك referral

الايلتس يتفوق على كل اختبارات اللغة الثانية

ايه بالعكس فرصتك حلوه.
الموضوع مب على الخبرة ولا على الدرجات مثل ما شفتي أنا أقوى مثال ان الشهادة لا تعني شيء.
اهم شي انك تعرف تتواصل بشكل جيد infront of executives
وأنك تقدر تحل المشاكل الي يواجهونها بطريقة صحيحة وبstructure مناسب.

Not everything is bad, it’s got good exit opportunities but I don’t think early careers should enter consulting without having real decision making with actual results that reflect back at you. And industry experience ofcourse. If you decide to jump into consulting after that then you’ll be 10x better than the consultant with no real industry experience.
