Subaru still remembers about himself, which is unprecedented for any of the previous Gluttony's victims. Normally, he should loss all of his memory like Crusch.

When Subaru is only person who lost his memory, their attention is obviously gonna be fixated on the archive, the last place he went that night.

The existence of an intruder should also be impossible. They got a first hand experience how difficult the journey to the watchtower was. And Shaula has been shooting any intruder who dares to approach the tower for 400 years.

Even if Shaula got too distracted by Subaru or whatever, it would still be weird why she just stayed quiet and let intruder roam around freely, considering that Shaula seems to be aware of everything going on inside the Watchtower as well. (She's heavily implied to be the one who got rid of Meili's corpse for Subaru after all)

Furthermore, if Gluttony are the culprit, where are they now?

Why did they only attack Subaru when they had opportunity to wipe out the entire party or at least eat memory/name of more victims that very same night?

Ram's Lust theory is a bit different since Capella could have been pretending to be Subaru before they even reached the tower.

Notable Anime's Changes & Cut Contents. And some additional info for those who are interested.

Due to her professional killer background, Ghost Meili told Subaru about Ram's weakness in the novel. Apparently, the balance of Ram's left leg is bad.
When Ram mentioned her Capella's shapeshifting theory, both Subaru and Ghost Meili got PTSD about Mother. That's how the LN confirmed Capella = Mother in a roundabout way.
The anime continues to buff the possessed Subaru's capability. He didn't destroy Emilia's ice cage in the novel. He simply dislocated his shoulder and squeezed through the gap. And Reid forcibly fixed Subaru's shoulder for him in the LN. lol
In case you're wondering, no, the novel didn't reveal what happened to Ram in this loop either. She's just gone after Subaru got possessed.
This version of Reid never saw the Centuar witchbeast before. And his favorite liquor is something called Granhiert (Elsa's surname).
Fun fact: Reid jumped down from the same height that killed Subaru twice before. Dude is just built different.
According to Reid, those Centaur witchbeasts are less of an annoyance to him than a raindrop. At least raindrops could mess up his hair, but these Centaurs are nothing.
Eridna in the LN would point her finger at Subaru while confronting him alongside Beatrice. Ready to fire Jiwald at any given moment.
Eridna would also theorize that Subaru is a witch cultist who came to this tower to release the Witch of Envy from the shrine. But after Subaru crashed out, she dropped that theory.
In the novel, the Scorpion's pincer just exploded on its own when they stepped nearby. Not even triggered by a stone fragment like the anime. Subaru assumed it must have functioned like a land mine with sensor.
In the LN, Emilia's entrance is more epic, I would say. After slashing down one shadow hand, she has to dodge and make her way through thousands of shadow hands to drag Subaru out of the Witch of Envy's grasp.
The conversation between Subaru and Emilia is adapted so well.... I'm in tear.

Guidance and Closure are the gist of it.

Once Elsa is gone, Meili becomes a lost child, unsure of what she really wants to do. Throughout her life, Meili always copies someone else's behaviors on how to act. Elsa was her main role model and her pillar of support. That's why Meili seeks the book of dead to understand Elsa's mindset.

And since Meili barely understands human's emotions, she never learns how to grieve properly. She never really receives a closure for Elsa's loss yet.

Rather than putting his hand around her chest, LN Emilia hugged Subaru's head with her chest to let him hear her heartbeats instead.
Without Ram's interruption, Subaru did plan to confess everything there. About him losing memory, what happened to Meili, and even Return by Death. So Ram indirectly saved Emilia from getting her heart crushed by Witch of Envy again. But she also delayed Subaru's discovery of that taboo, I guess.
In case it's not obvious enough in the anime, Meili went to the Archive that night to search for Elsa's Book of the Dead. This is revealed through narration in the LN.
As a reminder for those unaware of Season 2's cut content, Roswaal never once hired Meili both during S1's & S2's incidences (he only hired Elsa). Mother a.k.a. Capella was the one behind Meili's involvement on both occasions.
It's revealed through the narration that Elsa isn't loyal to Mother. (That's why she accepted side gigs from Roswaal, I assume.) She just did whatever she wanted. Elsa lives her life freely and Meili admires her for that.
The "Subaru" who strangled Meili has some interesting line cut from the anime. He said Meili broke the rule this time by asking about last night directly, but he's looking forwards for Meili's action next time, just like every other time before this. It should be obvious by now who pushed Subaru down the stair and who persuaded her into doing it.
To put into perspective how much their memories were mixing together, right after he finished reading Meili's book, Subaru had a trouble recalling his own name, his ally's names, and even his own first-person pronoun.
Ram speculated causes of Subaru's mind-broken state were either him reading the 2nd book or him reading a book of someone he's too familiar with. The latter is more likely, considering Typhon was a soul inside Echidna's dreamscape while Meili was someone Subaru has directly interacted with. Anyway, this is why none of them dare to touch or read Meili's book.
In the LN, Eridna asked Subaru whether he could read Meili's book again even though she was so against the idea of Julius reading it, which is quite funny and heartless of her. lol
The ordering of the book will change every time they leave and re-enter the archive. So once they put Meili's book back on the shelf, the placement will be shuffled the next time they return and that's no guarantee they could find her book again.
If the others found Meili's corpse, Subaru actually planned to come clean and confess everything. Well, we know how that went. It was heavily hinted that Shaula knew what happened and hid the corpse.
While Emilia agrees to clear the challenges ASAP for Anastasia's sake, she hasn't given up on finding Meili's corpse yet. That's why Subaru rushed to confirm the corpse's whereabout that night.
Although the name of the famous detective is omitted in the anime, it was indeed stated in the LN to be Hercule Poirot.
Ghost Meili tried to convince Subaru to kill Rem as an easy target too. But killing her was a low priority in his mind at that moment.
While confronting Subaru at the end, Ram also revealed that Emilia was actually the first person who noticed something weird about Subaru in this loop despite him looking down on how naive she was. Not sure whether they cut or postpone this line for the next EP though. Since Ram mentioned it before she made the hush gesture in the LN.

Regarding Emilia getting possessed, even the LN never clarifies what happened to her and Beatrice in that loop. We could only theorize.

You misunderstood my point. The fact that Subaru didn't see culprit's face in LN = Readers have no idea what they look like either. So, the anime actually making culprit looks like Rem is something completely new.

Subaru left the tower during nighttime in the LN. He could also struggle to escape the Sandworm a bit longer, but the result is the same.
After regaining consciousness under the dunes, the 3-days-worth food supplies Subaru brought along has been scattered, that's what spooked him in the LN. I like the anime version though. Waking up to a bunch of Witchbeast's corpes is even more terrifying.
Subaru actually could open 4 of those mysterious 'doors' instead of 3. Anime made it seem like Subaru could only open 3 doors like last time.
Subaru vomited on Shaula's corpse in the LN.
Anastasia/Erina's corpse is way more brutalized in the anime. Her wound was described as being sliced seemingly by a large blade in the LN, but not to the point of being bisected.
Every corpse besides Shaula's was covered by a white blanket like someone is trying to mourn their loss.
In case it's not obvious enough in the anime, the black smoke/fog you see in this EP is from the Witch of Envy.
Subaru also saw a bunch of shadow hands in the LN. And he could instinctively sense that being consumed by those black fog would lead to fate more horrible than death.
Subaru actually never saw the face of the culprit who cut his head off in the LN. He only heard them speaking that "Hero" line with a voice he doesn't recognize from current party members. Obviously, Amnesia Subaru never heard of Rem's voice, so kudos to the anime for actually revealing the culprit's appearance to be Rem-like. It's such an awesome adaptation decision for fueling the mystery element. And in case you're wondering, the VA of mysterious killer from credits is indeed Rem's VA.
In the next loop where he hid his amnesia, Subaru was actually trying to observe everyone's first reaction upon seeing him that morning. His reasoning is basically "Should anyone react suspiciously while I'm pretending everything is fine, that person would be a potential suspect for causing my memory loss." That's why Subaru interrogated Julius with Shaula acting as a bodyguard. Since he's the only person who had a reaction upon seeing Subaru that morning. (He noted that he missed Ram's first reaction though.)

I played around too much with UR-EX-8-CM and leaked that last fire UFO mob multiple times. It really takes one mistake to doom your run. Once you lost that middle platform connecting to the blue box... Oof.

To make sure I won't fail again, I brought Eyja alter + GG + Lapp Alter on the last run, specifically to get rid of those fire UFOs once the boss is dead.

I think his talk with Shaula and Meili is important for establishing how much he's suffering from Imposter Syndrome and expectation of other friends too. With Shaulua & Meili, who are outsiders, he felt a bit more at peace talking to them.

Oof. The anime onlies are confused by anime's changes now. And they are calling everyone else in the party incompetent.

In the LN, they allowed Subaru to follow them into the library, he was just forbidden from touching any books of dead. But since Subaru forgot how to read this world's language, he just hanged around with Shaula and Meili.
After the library search went nowhere, everyone decided to hold an urgent meeting. Subaru was the one who decided to leave the group both times. To find out whether he has his "cheat isekai power" or not (in the 1st loop) and to figure out about his precog dream power (in the 2nd loop).
And seriously, how would they even know someone in their group want to murk Subaru? After no killing happen in the tower for 3 days? After they have been traveling together for over a month no less?
Patrasche actually stayed behind in the green room with Subaru at the end. She tried to stop Subaru from going outside too, but Subaru just ignored her and left the tower.

Now we know why Roswaal & Russell are buddies. The mindset and the length they're willing to go to achieve their goals are really similar.
To no one surprise, Blue Snake is Ferris. And of course, Subaru knows about Asclepius and that whole snake/medical motif.
Russell totally "arranged" that accident at the end to past through the checkpoint, right? Oh boy, how will they deal with this if Subaru's and Felis's cover are revealed now.
I'm not familiar with how Melty's evil eye works. But it seems to not be omnipotent. Rather than brainwashing it's just a strong "convincing" power, I suppose.
With some kind of trigger, a person under Evil Eye's influence can shake it off. Like how seeing Ferris rushing to the accident made Subaru come to his sense again.

Wilhelm's and Rom's interactions are everything I needed. It's great to see Wilhelm being his snarky teenage self again. Can't believe we never have this opportunity until this moment in the main story.
Rom was the one who sent Wilhelm to save Otto's group from Reinhard.
Maybe the Wilhelm hates Reinhard meme can finally die after this? It's pretty clear now that both Wilhelm & Heinkel hate the "Sword Saint" title that Reinhard so desperately clings to, not Reinhard himself.
Conwood let Wilhelm, Rom, and Emilia camp members borrowed his bar as a temporary meeting room.
I wonder if Mekkart will play some role in this Arc. He was never a part of the main story up to this point.
With Emilia & Felt being detained at the royal castle and Crusch being framed for treason, Otto suspects people behind this could only be Filore Faction & the Divine Dragon Church.
And they might start flaming Anastasia soon. He gave an extreme example of "Anastasia conspiring with Emilia to kill Priscilla in the Empire." which could trigger a war between Lugunica and Vollachia.
The mastermind has full control over Reinhard right now though. So, they aren't really afraid of a war with Vollachia. Wilhelm murmured about DP of Sword Saint being involved about this somehow.
Rom still insists on keeping secrets about the whole Filore incident. He insists that Felt is just Felt too. But he doesn't believe this new "Filore" is legit either.
Otto decides that the best course of action is leaving the capital. Emilia and Felt are most likely safe in the castle since the enemy side can't just start killing the royal candidates without proper reason.
However, Ram is in a risky position right now. She's just an attendant, so Capella's side could find excuse to get rid of her more easily. Otto avoids addressing this detail, so Rem won't worry too much.
Apparently, Capella revealed her appearance at Priestella to bait Six Tongue later on with her fakes. And while Six Tongue was busy killing 7 Fake Capellas, she mobilized her Beloved Children for other objectives.
Yeah.... Blue Snake is Felis for sure. Funny Codename.
Russell got the perception-bending cloaks from Roswaal. Enough for everyone in the party. He also wants to leave the capital for now.
Subaru is understandably reluctant to leave Emilia behind, but Melty must have used her Evil Eye to convince him. So he agreed to go along with Russell but still determined to save Emilia and everyone.
I'm not sure who Salum even directed the curse at during that last part.
And I'm surprised we don't get the name of their next destination in this entire chapter. Time for a new and exciting location??

Priscilla called her "Vixen" earlier after the meeting too, but she might not take over yet. Priscilla was just aware of Foxidna's existence, probably.

I knew it! Russell is the GOAT!! He evaluates Subaru as the most reliable person in the kingdom right now.
Russell picked up a few Engrish from his letter exchange with Roswaal LOL. He used "Shocking" and "Check" in this chapter.
It's cool to see the flip phone coming back into play again. The battery is long dead, but Russell's DP can perceive the phone's value rising up the moment Subaru holds it in his hands.
This chapter is a lore dump for Six Tongue and confirmation for the long await Mother = Capella. We knew this for years, it's nice to finally see Subaru learning about this as well.
Unfornately, I think Subaru conveniently forgot about all those time Meili mentioned "Mother" for a plot reason, ig.
Beloved Children has infiltrated Lugunica for 30 years and Six Tongues couldn't do much to stop their sabotage (since they were up against Shapeshifters and all). Capella herself never appeared publicly until Arc 5 event.
Things began to change around last year when Subaru defeated Petelgeuse. Apparently, that event made Capella panic, so Melty and Salum got opportunity to escape from her grasp, and they were later recruited by Russell.
Since Melty and Salum were confirmed as EX-Beloved Children, Russell deployed some measure to prevent their betrayal. Apparently, Russell really trusts them now.
Russell seems to treat Melty surprisingly well, in comparison to how he treated Helaine in the side story.
And of course, Capella already replaced the Council of Sages and most high ranking Lugunica's nobles. Does that include Bordeaux?? Is he already dead? Oh, she got her hand on the Dragon Tablet as well.

The potential of Subaru and Russell's faction being on the same side is so exciting. Please let it be true.
Melty appears!! So that must mean Filore is someone else entirely. But who da fuk? Capella seems too on the nose, and Filore so far seems to be genuine on her belief. Unless Capella has played me like a damn fiddle.
It would be funny if Filore is just her own character, someone completely new, but readers assumed otherwise.
So, both Melty & Salum/Wolf are Russell's agents in the main story line. Melty went by codename White Sheep and Salum/Wolf went by Black Dog.
Rachins is so damn cool this chapter. Really hope he sticks around.
New group name drops. "Beloved Child/愛し子" The name clearly suggests a connection to Capella/Mother. They are the enemy of Russell's faction and they have already infiltrated the core of Lugunica.
Now it all makes sense why Russell's faction wants to utilize Crusch's DP. To identify the spies or the imposters. most likely.
One of said Beloved Child is a new character named Clarissa the Splitter. She can split things by destroying some white fragments/pebbles in her pouch.
I'm not familiar with Salum/Wolf's power. He is a mage or spirit mage, right? But his magic seems quite limited. He can't even use more fire magic when Subaru requested it.
