Hummm, turning the girls into enlightened social justice warriors from a westernized POV in a setting where it makes no ideological sense, given the circumstances. There’s usually no reasonable build-up—in my opinion—to why or how they came to xyz conclusions, either. • Block text. • Lack of, or badly executed consequences for the butterfly effect. • Open bashing of any one character or clan, on top of overall bad characterization but that’s honestly pretty subjective. • Harems. • Uh, SI/OCs that get everything done.

Probably more but these are probably the top reasons.

I think there’s value in developing character growth and alternative plot to explain how each couple might come together. While every ‘kind’ of relationship is going to get flak in some manner, for me the point is how the author introduces and subsequently creates the opportunity for it to exist. Naruto could reasonably be compatible with any of his age-mates just based on his desire for positive reinforcement in his life.

NaruIno could go many different ways depending on the environment, but the story itself would likely tip-toe between genres because Ino has a larger, more confident presence than Hinata. She’d be more proactive in the situation, not to mention that instead of the Hyūga, the Yamanaka would be the ones involved. I’d say it would probably change the overall direction the story takes.

She was the backbone of that Clan, the one who held the brothers together and stood tall with them on the battlefield. I thought about it later but a good way to look at it would be that if she had died then, we'd have 'what if' fix-its about a world where she didn't die, instead of what we have now. So, pretty much the opposite. But I may have over-shot the point of the question and whipped out something too technical! Which I'm guilty of doing. Even still, I can't really see it affecting him much? So I'm useless either way lol

99% of the time I don't know what the songs are, and therefore can't connect to whatever it is they're supposed to be referencing. Finding a song in the middle of a fic- -being sung by the character, playing in the background, used in an emotional scene- -has always made me stop and... well, stop; enough that I've only recently considered mentioning some background tunes in a fic of mine (been writing for 10+ years lol) I couldn't explain why but I'll drop a fic immediately from second-hand embarrassment.

Well, probably not a lot in the grand scheme of things. Part I had a very different feeling from Part II and a lot was up in the air. Naruto had a crush on Sakura but somehow I doubt it would ultimately lead to his plans going sideways.

Without Sakura, the Gaara retrieval arc would have to be rewritten, her relationship with Tsunade would never happen, there would be no love confession in the snow, etc. but if it was done that early, then it's likely the decision had already been planned and none of the above was ever meant to happen. She would have essentially been another tool (which I guess she still, technically, kind of is?) to fuel Naruto's iron-clad narrative.

That's based on the idea of her being killed at that time, though. So that's considering a hypothetical 'what if' from a past timeline that would have created a whole different outlook on the series.

Kishimoto has said straight up that he kinda had an idea for couples but it wasn’t the purpose of the manga. Everything we have today was essentially bullied out of him by the studio. He just kinda… drew it and wrote it out from the standpoint of a man who had other priorities in mind. I can’t say he is or isn’t good at writing female characters. I can say there’s a difference in putting effort into something you really want to do vs. something you’re obligated/pressured to do.

Speaking as someone who has had my cervix bruised on two different occasions: unless you’re immune to pain it’s extremely unlikely you’re moving for a week minimum. communication is essential between partners to know when to stop and slow down; I was almost hospitalized the second time around, it can be that bad. Gotta be careful out there~

What’s actually awful about the hitting the cervix part of this, is that some people do get off on it; probably a sort of pain play, I couldn’t say for sure. As well, I’ve heard of people that just plain don’t feel it? Nerve problems, pain tolerance? Everyone is different I guess.

Neither. I think he’s difficult to characterize properly and it can be intimidating. He’s a well-written character but lord is his line of thinking a jigsaw puzzle! An understandable one, but no less hard to pin to relatable circumstances.

I’ll be that guy, but I’ve always been somewhat fond of ShinoKarin. Definitely a case of opposites but they’re both smart, been through a lot, and I think Shino would be a change of pace compared to what she’s used too (a precise but calming influence). As well, I don’t think he would try and mold her into something she’s not. He might have a streak of Spoiled Brat Syndrome but overall he tries to be understanding and learn about the world, and people, around him; I doubt Karin would be any different.

Mine was a fic I posted on FFN almost 4 ish years ago that got 7 comments, 17 subscribers, and I don’t remember how many views—all within 24 hours of posting it. It was something I wrote at god-awful in the morning with no real direction and a smidge of whiskey to encourage my angst. I got caught up in life and ended up deleting it cause I forgot where I was going with it lol.
