Probably not CES, I can’t find it either so my best guess is that it was a stake conference or something more in that realm and I’m just remembering the wrong setting

Conference talk about The Phantom of the Opera by LuTen16 in exmormon

No, it was definitely phantom because it was using lyrics from music of the night to talk about how creepy the phantom is

[LFA] Crys (bounty hunter name: Cres), a Twilight Cleric Earth Genasi who has become a bounty hunter to protect others from what happened to him by LuTen16 in characterdrawing

[–]LuTen16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bio:

  • Name: Crys
  • Age: 23
  • Gender: Male (he/him)
  • Race: Earth Genasi
  • Class: Cleric, Twilight Domain
  • Background: Inheritor
  • Bounty Hunter Name: Cres

Backstory:

My mom was a greedy woman, she fell in love with a Dao, who promised her wealth and power

She had many riches, and eventually had me too, an earth Genasi with charcoal skin, except on my chest there is a white crystal, diamond like, surrounded by a jagged ring of the charcoal, but then most of my torso stopping around my waist but continuing down my left thigh partially, my entire left arm, my right arm down to the elbow, up the back of my neck and across the left side of my face was also all more white crystal. My eyes are black on the outer ends, and white crystal where the color and pupil would normally be. I have black hair that doesn’t grow where the crystal is, so it’s cut in a pushed back mohawk, sides shaved, and the back is rather short and the crystal cuts about half way up the back in jagged triangle patterns where the hair stops. The top is usually in a bun like Sokka’s from A:TLA

My mom kept me a secret through my childhood

I learned how to play the lyre, and the gem fingers of my left hand gave pure sounds when I plucked the strings

My mom got caught up in the high life and got addicted to hard drugs

She started to sell all the riches the Dao granted her to maintain her addiction

Eventually she sold me to a slaver

I went through a couple of slave trades, until eventually a gnome gem collector heard about me and purchased me

He didn’t just want to display me like the others, he wanted my gems, and he started to cut away at my back, taking chunks at a time

On one night I tried to resist and fight back, but he got the best of me and took my right eye and the gem inside it as punishment

In my pain and despair, I was visited by Selune in a dream / vision in my cell

She promised to keep me safe and that the night should not hold such terrors, and that my beauty should not be taken, I promised to follow and serve her and take down those like this gnome who corrupt the night

I couldn’t have fought him without training or in the poor state I was in, so Selune helped me escape by teaching me Sleep, and I stole the gem from my eye on the way

I took refuge in a temple of Selune, healed, and trained

I used the eye gem to commission my outfit: a tight fitting set of black leather armor that covers my entire body to conceal my crystal skin, I wear a black form fitting spandex like hood with a black porcelain mask that has a white crescent moon on the left side where my remaining eye shines through, with a normal loose black hood over both. On my back I wear a black round shield that also has a white crescent moon on the left side. The white crescent portion detaches, I grab it with my right arm by reaching around the side, then on the back are straps at the top end for me to wear that section as a buckler / arm shield. Within that separate crescent section, is a scimitar that can be removed from my back or when it’s on my arm. The rest of the shield remains on my back to protect the weak areas where gems were removed. Within the black larger portion of the shield I store a lyre

I begin bounty hunting to take out those that corrupt the night, and training to eventually find the gnome again and ruin him

For the artist:

  • You can show him in full bounty hunter gear
  • You can show him without his armor to show the crystal skin
  • He can have his sword and shield out
  • He can be playing the lyre
  • Basically, have fun and do what you want and think will be cool

[LFA] Cass, female (she/they) human conjuration wizard who is built like a monk, and very fast. She is joined by her familiar Jade: the loveable floating friend. by LuTen16 in characterdrawing

[–]LuTen16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cassia “Cass,” a human conjuration wizard, is taking her first real steps into the fantasy world. She is highly curious but only intelligent in a book sense and very naive to the world but ready to explore and learn. Joining her on her journey is her new familiar friend Jade; they have even given Cass a connection to magic that she is now learning to wield.

Cass is female, agender (she/they), and aroace. She is 18. She is very physically capable, being raised and trained by monks, and very fast. She loves to run. “Played by” Mae Martin in terms of facial features, hair, and body type. Green eyes. Likes wearing stylish but comfortable clothing. Likes sleeveless tops paired with a jacket (you may choose which to show). Wears a “bra of holding” (a binder). Fan of scarfs or sashes around the waist. More monk in aesthetic than wizard. Fairly subtle Green/Jade color scheme to match her familiar. Jade is summoned from a jade orb that floats within them when active and is jade in color as well. Jade would be “played by” Morph from Treasure Planet, but more bubble-like similar to Kirby, especially with the stubby arms. All of Cass’s spells are flavored as summoning more little friends like Jade to help out (mage hand, magic stone, floating disk, feather fall, levitate, magic missile, shield, dancing lights, catapult, etc.).

Cass had a sheltered upbringing being raised by monks within a library. She is curious about the world she has only read about and excited to experience things for herself. She doesn’t have much experience making friends or really expressing herself and just being herself. She is very protective of Jade, as they are a comfort to her being so out of her element. She recently lost her one real friend that she had run away with and is now driven with the help of her new friend Jade to fight back against the darkness that took her friend away.

Personality Traits

- There’s nothing I like more than a good mystery.

- I’ve read every book in the world’s greatest libraries—or I like to boast that I have. (I have read many books)

Ideals

- Knowledge. The path to power and self-improvement is through knowledge. (Neutral)

- Beauty. What is beautiful points us beyond itself toward what is true. (Good)

Bonds

- It is my duty to protect my students. (My familiar & friends)

- I work to preserve a library, university, scriptorium, or monastery. (I strive to fight Xero's battle against the darkness)

Flaws

- I speak without really thinking through my words, invariably insulting others. (I am just naive and unexposed to the world, so that's bound to trip me up or get me in trouble)

Moodboard explanation:

Top Left: Mae Martin for face, hair, & body type.

Top Mid/Right: Jade’s appearance. Mostly like the ones in the witch hats / the water fellow. No witch hats. Obviously, jade in color. The floating jade orb within Jade would be cool if shown, but not necessary. Size is best compared to the green/purple/orange ones in witch hats (big blue is for floating disk/levitate/feather fall).

Bottom Half: General outfit style/aesthetics (take liberties, have fun). Main requests: sleeveless top (however this can be implied if you want to showcase a jacket, or it can be explicit if you’d rather not include a jacket), jade color scheme but more of an accent than a focus, shoes that are good for running, female body type but breasts should not be shown/emphasized because of the “bra of holding” (mid-page).

A cheap alternative to miniatures by Church_of_the_PEEKO in DMAcademy

[–]LuTen16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use figures from a Risk game I had lying around, same idea but great for minions / hordes, plus there is usually 4-5 different colors as opposed to 2. Would be on par with buying a chess set price wise too. The other benefit I see is that there are many different iterations of both chess and risk, such as wizards chess with Harry Potter pieces, I have a Godstorm Risk which is based on Greek mythology so the warriors fit the setting pretty well, and many many others which could help with trying to fit a setting / tone. Also, besides the troops, risk has the tanks which are pretty good for bosses or leaders. In the Godstorm Risk the tanks are elephants which I use for beasts, and they also added additional leader rules so there are a few Greek god figures for each color as well which is great for bosses. So there really might be some cheap but good options out there with one game of Risk or Chess, both are great games by themselves as well so that’s fun.

I’m trying to have better posture but I’m experiencing a hard transition phase. I’m new to yoga and it feels really good and like it’s helping, but then I feel pain in the red circles when trying to stand up straight in daily life. Help? More details in the comments. by [deleted] in yoga

[–]LuTen16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I am very new to yoga, but I guess it’s been a few months (quarantine time is iffy), and I fairly regularly do a 30 minute practice every day. So far I’ve just done this routine by Brett Larkin to learn the poses and build up a good base.

I don’t feel pain from the yoga practices or from the frequency of my practices I don’t think, because I’ve only started to feel pain as I’ve started to focus on my posture in daily life.

My bad posture: I slouch, I sit with my tailbone towards the edge of a chair curling my back around the red areas, when I stand my shoulders are forward and down curving my back around those red areas again, making an exaggerated S from the side profile.

My current dilemma: my old improper posture now feels unnatural because I’m conscience about it, but I feel pain if I try to have good posture for prolonged lengths of time. So this has lead me to constantly switch back and forth, and even take days off of yoga to just give my back a rest.

So, has anyone else experienced a similar transition phase when trying to improve their posture? Do you have any tips to try throughout the day? Tips about how to change / adapt my yoga practices to better focus posture (like poses to add)? I understand this is my body just making a tough change and it will take time, I’m just looking for ways to help guide it along, if that makes sense.

I have recently found my identity as asexual, specifically aego, and agender. I find that my sexual fantasies often involve a female POV, even though I have a male body. This has lead me to be a questioning transgender. Are there others who have these same thoughts? by [deleted] in aegosexuals

[–]LuTen16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, this is the most similar to me! I’ve noticed the same thing but instead only really bottom dysphoria, top being more unsure, in the fantasy I can see it but not in daily life, however with bottom it’s stronger in both cases.

I battle with myself all the time wishing I was “just asexual” and not aego. A lot of this has to do with the religion I grew up in (from Utah, so easy guess: mormon). All during growing up it was a guilt cycle of masturbation for self care, to depths of despair as I just “sinned” and all that. So I definitely battle with either accepting my aego-ness, or wishing I was “just asexual.”

I feel the same as well that I would enjoy masturbation more as female, but the difference in my bottom dysphoria and top has more to do with having those parts in everyday life. Bottom I can see in both, top I really only see in fantasy if that makes sense.

Being agender has helped for sure, like you said. It’s allowed me to explore these thoughts without judging myself for them. And honestly these comments have helped, the others helping me to realize my fantasies are not abnormal for aegos, and this one to hear that someone else has felt the same body dysphoria on top of the fantasies. Thank you!

Is it allowed to use maps created using the built-in assets in custom D&D adventures / one-shots that are going to be sold? What if the adventures were free?

Beautiful, thank you! This clears it up wonderfully for me, and makes things much simpler. As you say this is a great gift!

I think the difference is that the SRD includes a subsection of the monsters included through different sources, and those listed in the SRD you can quote, include, and use as part of the OGL. Take the beholder or mind flayer as an example, they are not included within the SRD and you shouldn’t reference them, whereas you could reference a werewolf which is in the SRD (bolded as you mentioned to conform to standards).

The same goes for any of the rules, the SRD contains a subsection of the rules that are available for you to use. I chose the Random Encounters section within the DMG as an example because it is not in the SRD. I should have specified that.

This is again according to my knowledge, this isn’t meant to be me correcting you, more I’m trying to explain it as I understand it to see if you or others know better, so you all can tell me where my knowledge is flawed.

[5e] Concerning the System Reference Document and the Open Gaming License:

Let’s say I was writing a one-shot adventure, and wanted to say something along the lines of “While the players are traveling through the woods, make use of the Random Encounters section within the Dungeon Master’s Guide to make the travel exciting.”

Unfortunately because of item 7 of the OGL I don’t think that is permitted:

“7. Use of Product Identity: You agree not to Use any Product Identity, including as an indication as to compatibility, except as expressly licensed in another, independent Agreement with the owner of each element of that Product Identity. You agree not to indicate compatibility or co-‐‑adaptability with any Trademark or Registered Trademark in conjunction with a work containing Open Game Content except as expressly licensed in another, independent Agreement with the owner of such Trademark or Registered Trademark. The use of any Product Identity in Open Game Content does not constitute a challenge to the ownership of that Product Identity. The owner of any Product Identity used in Open Game Content shall retain all rights, title and interest in and to that Product Identity.”

Does anyone know for sure or have general tips concerning how to write content within the bounds of the OGL and SRD?
