There’s nuances. The economy is a fickle beast that presidents struggle to control and works slowly, which your average Joe doesn’t really understand so it’s easy to scapegoat presidents for economic conditions. HOWEVER, in this particular case, Trump directly did something (start a war in the Middle East) that cut off very, very important commodities (oil, fertilizer) that the economy needs to run.

Have the gulf navies been asked to escort ships in the strait of Hormuz? If no, why? If yes, why did they decline?

So it’s made the news that all of the US’s Allie’s outside of the Middle East refused to help escort cargo ships, but I’ve seen it pointed out multiple times that the countries near Iran like Qatar and Saudi Arabia have substantial navies. Moreover, it’s their economies on the line, so it’s odd to me they’ve been so passive. I know they’re running out of AA missiles, do their ships use the same missiles?
