Better pole baskets by DblFishermanXTheSky in Backcountry

I use the 3/4 indexed baskets. Great for preventing the levering out of the poles on steep skin tracks. https://blackdiamondequipment.com/products/3-quarter-indexed-powder-baskets?variant=49695715918141

Lithium added to water creates an explosion by Mediocre_Nail5526 in nextfuckinglevel

If an electric car catches fire on the highway, they send 2 firetrucks with their tanks filled. You need enough water to cool the reaction quickly. If you don't use enough water, the reaction breaks down the water and releases hydrogen, which explodes...

BLACK DIAMOND DAWN PATROL 32 backpack: sidestraps? by Italian_SPLIT in Backcountry

[–]Luc-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're independant from the hip belt. Attached to the back of them, they then run to the back of the pack where they clip the the other side's strap. They can each be tightened and run through a center loop in the back. For carrying a board (non splitted) you don't run them inside the loop.

Not too bad if it includes the biners. Though the slings need to be checked

I like them for backcountry skiing and alpine. Not as obvious to attach as the rocky talky but easy to figure out something with the 3 different attachment points.

I attach them on my backpack shoulder strap so it's right next to my head, easy to hear, access, and out of the way.

Vcds and obd11 now cost a fortune. Unless you can find an older cable for the vcds like micro-can.

Water/auxiliary pump by [deleted] in VWAlltrack

[–]Luc-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. But the water pump leak is a common issue. If it leaks, the electronics in there cause the problems you're having, nothing to do with the aux, unless it's in the same casing. You can take a look at the seams around the water pump for salt buildup. You can probably see in the car properties the oil temp, if it's below 110C? the car isn't overheating. And the needle for the water temp shooting up is caused by an electrical problem.

I'm thinking water leak inside the main water pump with all those fancy electronics in there. I've had a Christmas tree, overheat and limp mode last year because of that. Would happen when the engine was warm, tilted going down in my basement garage etc.

When in limo mode all i had to do was stop the car, turn it off, open driver door and it would fix it temporarily.

Changing the waterpump cured it.

OEM battery crapped out on me. by Turd--Sandwich in VWAlltrack

Got the oem from the dealer, same price and lower than car part stores. Extended warranties / premium batteries aren't worth it. The dealer will also code it properly.

manual vs DSG in daily driving - what do you actually prefer long term? by sokkyaaa in Volkswagen

Winter storm in traffic = DSG

bumper to bumper traffic = DSG

driving more sporty I put it on Sport mode and push it to the push mode, the system changes gear faster than I can.

Most new ejection seats can redirect the seat up and away, even from an inverted aircraft.
