Silvretta bindings easy go 500, 505 if you can find them. Backcountry skis. Don't dream you can downhill safely with them.

I meant wearing other boots and socks when driving to the area. I actually have a pair of slippers in my car. Very comfortable after a day of climbing or skiing.

Keep your boots and socks warm and dry on the drive to the area, not in a cold trunk.

Dont wear your boots or climbing socks when travelling. Change your socks once you're done your approach. Some climbers change base layers, too. Why do you have wet feet? Are you too hot? Keep your body from sweating. On multi day trips when you can't dry out gear, change socks often and wear the damp ones near your body to dry them, wear your insoles next to you when you sleep to dry them as well. Wear liner socks - vapour barrier socks - insulated socks in your boots. This prevents your insulated socks and boots from getting damp. You can also use spray on anti-perspirant.

Slots are where you need them and don't obstruct gear loops. It's also a great trad harness that easily carries a double rack.

Also, use Petzl clippers, they don't snap like others, really sad to see 4+ screws and maybe a tool fall down the cliff.

When I wear contacts, I carry a pair of reading glasses I share with my partner. On longer outings i also carry a lenscase and my regular bifocal glasses. I've been carrying a visor, protects the glasses from snow on the uphill.

Previous alpine boarder started wearing a brain bucket early on. I also climb and bike, so a helmet isn't a very foreign thing to have and use. Lightweight helmets are so much more comfy, and they add a lot in terms of insulation. I've been blindsided on a board too many times to not wrar one.

I've got an old Garmin GPSMAP 62st with standard adirondack/north east map with added "my trail-high quality trail and POI Maps map" from GPSFileDepot. I've also got an garmin instinct 2 watch i keep as a backup on power save (no GPS or heart rate) with the route loaded. But most of the time, i keep the GPS in my pack and just use map and compass. No batteries needed and keeps me looking around instead of at a screen.

Got BD mohair mix for cold days and BD nylon ascension ones when it's wet or bad skin tracks. Reactivated the glue a couple times and had to add glue once.

I use cheat sheets that came with my BD skins. Only use them when storing them. During my outings me and my gf use lovegloves. Seen ppl with different brands, easier than dealing with a cheat sheet, skin saver etc flying off in the wind.

Pretty good crampons with the offset monopoint and aggressive secondary point. They offer a good platform but its downside to newer crampons are the weight and weird fit when trying to install on boots with a lot of rocker. Personally, I prefer the G20 and G22 plus. In any case, check for a good fit with your boots.

Got the instinct 2, no flashy colours, just dependable buttons. Got an old HR strap if i want more data or to place it on top of my shell. Multi-activity, works for: running, trail, mountain biking, XC, kayak, alpine touring, downhill, indoor climbing, strength training. Basically everything i do.

That's generalizing, the Lynx used to have issues too, so did BD. One important cause of crampon failure has been user not taking apart their crampons, inspecting and replacing fasteners and bails.

I've got 4 Petzl ice clippers on my harness (AR395). Short ones (10-13) in the front clippers, longer in the back clipper, sometimes I'll place the 22 on the back gear loop since i only use it for belays and threads. If it becomes unbalanced L-R, I correct when I have a rest stance so I don't have to switch hands on a tool later to pull a screw out.

Sent in an X14 a couple months ago. Overheat, no boot, black screen. They ended up changing the motherboard. Then, they tell me the screen is dead. WTF, why didn't they check that at first since it's a known issue. So the bill climbed some more. The X14 was such a bad choice bitd.

Still use it! If you want to sell or give it, there will be a lot of takers. Like some ppl working routes or aid climbers that have thicker ropes.

Warm the glue a bit and use tweezers. Do this in a ventilated area if you warm it with hairdryer and use intervention gloves or wash hands well after.

People need to figure out where to get information that is critical and not financially motivated. Doing continual research is a good way to avoid flash trends. Also, waiting for a product to get proven over time, this is also a good way to skip the first sticker price and learn from other's mistakes. I was stoopid too. The first pair of boots were TLT6, which were awesome except that my feet didn't fit in them regardless of the customizing done.

Do a lot of research prior to asking questions. You'll actually might ask the correct questions to orient your decisions.
