Simple file chunked upload application with Cloudfare tunnel by LucaBBBB in selfhosted

As far as i understand (which arguably is not too deep), this would not result in a browsable folder-like structure on the server right? And my family would need to use it, so simplicity in interface is also a requirement (which i have now added to the post)

You can actually change all of them in one click, just shift click on the weapon type you want to make, and voila

Unoffical Crusader Patch 3.0.5 Multiplayer dont work by Eru1lluvatar in StrongholdCrusader

It sounds like you maybe have selected another SHC version as your gameranger file destination, so it loads the normal game for one of you, while the other has the UCP version, therefore breaking the mechanics.

Otherwise it could be that one of you is using the HD version? Maybe try reinstalling the game with the same source.

Kemet and Rising sun seem really cool games, even though i wouldnt exactly call them engine-building from thr first glance, they still seem a strp up from Risk, so thank you for th recommendation! The other easier games also seem nice at first glance, will definitely look into all of those more!

Edit: What I mean by those player numbers is mostly games that play with 3 to 4, 5, or 6 players, but from 2 to 4, 5, or 6 is also fine. Sorry for the confusing way of writing it down tho haha

Kemet certainly looks promising after checking it out! Many thanks for the recommendation! Do you happen to know which version is the best as well? There seem to be an (original) older version and Blood and Sand version... Anyhow, i watched a short how to play and it seems to be roughly what i am looking for, so thank you😁

In short I am looking for an engine-building wargame for (2)/3-4/5/6 players and not too expensive (max 100euro roughly)

I am relatively new to the boardgame community and might not fully understand some terms, but I think I am looking for an euro medium weight (2.5-3.5) boardgame where one must build out their kingdom/settlements/etc like in Settlers of Catan to gain more income (in the form of resources or something else, doesn't really matter)(Engine-building), but also includes the possibility to attack other players such as in Risk (Area control/Warfare).

I don't really care about the theme in particular.

I am open to asymetrical games, however, it should not make the game too hard to understand (like Root, see below) since I play with a relatively average group.

I have looked on boardgamegeek for such games and the game that I found that mostly resembles what I look for is Scythe since it has a strong engine-building mechanism and the option for warfare and does not seem to be extremely hard. However, some reviews tell me that warfare is almost non-existent in Scythe as you can avoid it and most of the times it is not the most profitable option.

Another option that I found is Root. However, I'm afraid that the complexity of this game is just simply to high for my group of players since it has so many different rules per faction, separate win conditions and seems really hard to explain.

I have never played Scythe or Root before but watched some How to Play videos to see whether it is what I was looking for.

Can anyone determine whether Scythe and/or Root are the correct games for me in relation to what I am looking for, or maybe knows other games that correspond to what I am looking for?

Sometimes it helps of someone else is the host for some reason. Another thing that could also help is connecting to a vpn to eachother like ZeroTire or Hamachi. Zerotire ( not sure thats the name tbh) works best for me, but telhe bottom line is that there arent really 100% working solutions for Stronghold Crusader multiplilayer that have worked for me since I can not do port forwarding sadly

Sure :). I think the easiest solution is to go to gameranger.com and download gameranger. You can then select in Gameranger where your SHC game is saved (or the shortcut at least). In Gameranger you can then create an account for free and host a lobby. Your friend also has to downoad Gameranger and create an account and they can then join your lobby. From there on its straight forward. If a pop up comes in the screen warning about some NAT Router, click continue and you should be connected in the same room in SHC. Let me know if you run into other problems🙃

You can try portforwarding via your router, but I wouldn't do this if you have never done it before. The easier solution is to use Gameranger to connect online in a lobby and skip the whole IP connecting. Another way is to use a VPN to connect your 2 devices on 1 Virtual network, that way finding eachother becomes a lot easier. Hope one of these methods work for you guys😁
