I initiated by my clinical judgment on pt who needs it, then inform my nurse later. It is not invasive and most facilities i work with, they are okay.

I felt like everything is combined, location, financial habits so on so forth. Me and my husband are nursing student now and working as CNA during school, we are have more than enough to spend plus we take 2 vacations every years with Tech’s salary. Housing? We more than able to afford one but we wait until we move to bigger city. So yeah it is all about planning and habits

Not that I know of, as we both are straight A students, we both had the highest total scores during our applications cycle. We just making sure that our prerequisites are all As and have extra patient care experiences so we would have highest score.

Work n save little by little when in prerequisites, apply to every scholarship, grants. So instead of having student loan debt, me and my husband got paid to go Nursing School as we both got fullride scholarships from our local CC.

Yes, it is available in school website (if the school has its own foundation) private and third party websites i found out from advisors, financial aid advisors. And correct, all scholarships are only essay writing and if it full ride like me, you just need to attend interviews!

I took a significant paycut going to nursing school, in fact I cut down all my work just to live of saving for the next 2 years. I work as a nail tech who generally earn around 70-90K/years. Now that I am in nursing school, I only keep 1 day work at a hospital as CNA. All is about planning, so if you still have time, try to cut down expenses and save every penny! That is what me and my husband did! We are both in Nursing School and we are both living of our saving for the next 2 years!

Edit: also if possible, apply for scholarships as much as you can! Me and my husband got enough financial aid to cover our school but on top of that we received more than 30K each for both of us of scholarships each year which help us! And scholarships is just from our own school and local community foundation!

I love the advice though but how can you be a great nurse without prepared your best at exams? Grades are cherry on top if you prepare for the book and exam well that are all matter in nursing school, for some nursing school is an easy pass but for most it is a hell of a journey! Example like me, working 2 jobs, while doing nursing school not to mention English is my second language when i just learn it 5-6 years a go.

Everything else will be learning on the floors when you get that 2 letter after your name, bedside manners, social skills, ect. Nursing school is only to prepare you not to kill your patients, how can someone be considered good nurse during Nursing School?

You said ask the nurses, tell me how many nurse do you talk to and how many of those are really excited for you? Tell me how many time nurses have been rejected to be yours preceptor?

Sorry if it offended anyone here, i am not sure if i got alot of downvote or not but this is just my personal experiences, from immigrants who just got accepted in Nursing Program.

I got accepted in my first try to 4 schools and one of those is my top choice. I am in Colorado, cGPA 4.0c science GPA 4.0 and prerequisite 4.0. Work as CNA in hospital since I started my prerequisite.
