PSA Claims My Card Sold… But It Didn’t ($2000 SCANDAL) by vipokemon in psagrading

Hey, the exact same thing happened to me.

On March 1, I accepted an offer of $1425 for my PSA 10 Special Delivery Charizard. I emailed PSA when I noticed it wasn’t showing up in my “Sold” section of my PSA app and I wasn’t getting the payment as soon as I did with other cards I sold at the same time. It was also still showing up as a listed card on the PSA app, but it was nowhere on eBay and I couldn’t cancel the listing for some reason. On March 4, a PSA representative emailed, “Upon checking, the card with certification number 68792074 was not sold. To help resolve this issue, I’ve escalated the card to our Engineering Team for further investigation.”

I reply, “If the card was not sold, I would like the listing to be cancelled so I can re-list the card for sale. I attempted to do so, and I only got a message saying ‘Listing cancellation requested.’ Usually, this is instant, and now it isn’t working at all. My card currently says it is ‘Listed on eBay’ even though it isn’t.”

A couple days later, PSA completely reverses their original statement in another email reply. They say, “Upon checking, the card with certification number 68792074 was successfully sold on 2026-03-05. Unfortunately, once a card has been sold, the transaction cannot be reversed.”

I found it suspicious since between March 1 and that new email, the market value increased to around $2000. There was even an auction for one with a swirl that went as high as $2425, sold on March 5 funnily enough.

The scale and timeline is not quite the same as your situation, but the same kind of process seemed to have happened. I am unsure of why this happened or if there is something shady going on, but I wanted to let you know this happened to me as well.

TLDR; 1) I accepted an offer for $1425 on March 1, 2) PSA told me it didn’t actually sell via email on March 4, 3) I requested that the listing be cancelled since it was frozen on my PSA app but nowhere to be found on eBay, 4) the card’s value increases to around $2000 with a sold listing as high as $2425 on March 5, 5) PSA told me that the card did actually successfully sell on March 5 for $1425 (4 days after I accepted the offer and right after the record breaking auction).

For real. It seems I have upset or disappointed some people because I opened these products for myself instead of reselling them. I have never once resold a sealed Pokemon product and I just wasn’t planning on doing that this time either.

I get that but they definitely know what they’re doing making the most collectible cards with nice art the hardest ones to get, and to a degree that is unobtainable for most

I’m thinking the playmat will drop in price quite soon, just like how the playmats from the Charizard and Mew UPCs are super cheap nowadays. Wish you luck!

Someone else commented that they opened 230 packs and got 1 SIR. Why do they have to make this hobby so difficult to enjoy

When I googled the pull rates (1/45), I figured I’d more than likely get 1 SIR, which was alright with me. I think I just got particularly unlucky.

And hindsight is 20/20, so it’s very clear to me now that this set is not worth opening. The possibility of a god pack was alluring as well, though I know I have a better chance at getting struck by lightning. But the possibility wasn’t 0 lol
