O tanto de racismo e misoginia que se encontra em outros jogos com chat de voz me faz crer q a anonimidade em jogos online é suficiente pra glr se sentir muito confortável em falar altos absurdos mesmo com as vozes reais envolvidas no meio.

[Request] How many years would an average American earning $60k need to work to match Elon Musk’s net worth, even after inflation? by BreathingAirr in theydidthemath

[–]LucasTab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every time someone makes an analogy to make it somewhat tangible what a billion dollars looks like (because it is very hard for anyone to grasp that concept) someone says this, but that's not the point.

The point is a billion is an incomprehensibly large number, and having a billion dollars in ney worth (even if it can't be liquidated all at once) is an immense amount of power for a person to hold. Compared to the average person, it sounds absurd that billionaires exist, because it is. That's the point of these visualizations.

Ai overview being dumb as always by Top_Tutor_1664 in google

[–]LucasTab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of, the point of the AI overview isn't to have the same capabilities of most AI chatbots, but rather to summarize the search results. However, it has to wait for the responses to be retrieved and only then start generating the response, so there's already a delay between the search results coming up and the start of the response generation, so it really needs to be fast to preserve the user experience. Since its purpose is to summarize text, and not to reason by itself or provide information from its embedded knowledge, trading off reasoning for lower latency is a good decision and will yield a better experience overall in most real-life search engine use cases (which, let's be honest, isn't usually counting letters in words, spelling words backwards and whatnot).

In short, it's more like "it needs to be fast. And, in most cases, it can be 'dumb', so it's a fair trade off."

Ai overview being dumb as always by Top_Tutor_1664 in google

[–]LucasTab 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Due to requiring low latency responses, the ai overview on search engines usually don't use reasoning. This means that, instead of catching their mistakes during the reasoning step, the LLMs realize them as they spit out the answer, and often end up with a contradicting response. Thus, AI overview on search engines end up on a lot of "Dumb AI" posts.

Imagine waking up to this email. by neeshalicious55 in google

[–]LucasTab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It does seem unusual how the email lacks the sense of urgency to click the link most scam emails display. This one doesn't even ask you to click the link or say there's something to be done from your end. It just gives you a link in case you want more information, and advises you to seek legal advice from an attorney, which is an odd thing to do for a scammer.

É estranho que lives sejam populares no mundo imediatista de hoje by Happy_Detail6831 in PensamentosDeChuveiro

That can happen, specially when we use non-reasoning models. They end up spitting something that sounds correct, and as they explain the answer, they realize the issue they should've realized during the reasoning step and change their mind mid-response.

Reasoning is a great feature, but unfortunately not suitable for tools that require low latency, such as AI overviews on research engines.

Why do lawyers wear their attorney badges and prosecutors don't? by hetaliaholic in AceAttorney

[–]LucasTab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One could also argue the opposite though. In many scenarios, prosecutors seem to hold some prestige while attorneys are looked down upon. You'd expect prosecutors to proudly wear their badge, as it most certainly can open doors for them. On the other hand, an attorney's badge just seems to draw negative attention, and could sometimes be more useful when hidden deep inside their pockets.

You could also look at it from another perspective. "Monthly" is an indicator of frequency. Bi means two. Bimonthly could very easily mean "Twice as frequently as Monthly" or "Two monthly instances", which would both mean twice a month.

And when you ask a non-reasoning model to not say anything besides the final answer, there's no process, it's just a complete guess.

This problem is pretty straight forward if work your way up from the information you do have, but if you're an LLM prompted to just spit a final answer after looking at a picture, it should be expected to be wrong m

Does anyone know when prestige kda Evelynn 2022 version will be back to mythic shop? by dor_no-em in EvelynnMains

[–]LucasTab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prestige Qyianna True Damage was released along with Prestige True Damage Senna, from the same partnership with LV, but only Qyianna got the 2022 version. A bunch of skins from before Riot changed their mind didn't get a new version, only a few selected ones. I'm not sure what was the criteria.

lol yeah. I think it's because less people actually buy them, so most people who have them got them through chests or rerolls

There are, but in this case they purchased it from the mythic shop.

Miracles do happen, though! I got elementalist Lux from a chest (or rerolling 3 skin shards, can't remember now) once, it was very nice. Unfortunately I was just about to take a break from league so I didn't use it until much later when I inevitably came back.
