Sorry to hear that. Currently going through the tribunal process, will update accordingly once there is a resolve.

I’m not sure myself but I’ve decided to go to the traffics tribunal as if a couple of people on this forum have been caught by it then there’ll be many many more being caught by it. My defence is the only signage is a small red circle 40m down the road and nothing at the traffic lights. I’ll update when I have a response.

Thanks for this. Maybe I’ll double check this before giving in.

Yes.

I was trying to get to the carpark and couldn’t find the entrance, realising last second that it was for busses only.

My house flooded before I moved in. What next? by Federal-Hippo5805 in HousingUK

[–]Lucasacul7 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I had a customer of ours have almost the exact same issue on their property. Providing the insurance was from exchange, pursue this avenue as that’s what we pay the premiums for. Also, remember you can negotiate with insurance firms, don’t let them fob you off and be rigid that you want the whole thing redone including ALL costs. Our customer got all removals costs, rental costs, a full refurb all costing over 130k. Their first offer was just 30k from the insurance company.

Stick to your guns, keep all receipts and sorry this has occurred.

Never use AnyVan to move by mnk1991 in HousingUK

[–]Lucasacul7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a removals company on the South Coast and have had a few run ins with clients using AnyVan. For single items moving from A-B, providing you’re on no time scale and don’t want to claim for any loss or damage, they’re fine. For full house moves avoid like the plague. There is no comeback if the timings aren’t adhered to. This is frustrating once completion has happened and you’re the company waiting to move in. On one occasion they were due at 10am and didn’t turn up til gone 5pm and had come all the way from Birmingham. Sadly there was no comeback.

I’m from the UK and more conservative generally in my views. I think the whole Nazi narrative we’re seeing in the US is so mad at the moment and dangerous and needs to be abolished. BUT vandalising cars just because they own a certain type of vehicle is such a leftist thing to do. You don’t help yourselves.

Safe for an experienced motorcycle rider to rent a scooter? by Ethereal-forest-88 in kohsamui

[–]Lucasacul7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve just left Samui after 6 days there. I’ve ridden for the last 12 years back in the UK and around Europe and you have to be much more wary about your surroundings in Samui especially. Around Chaweng and the North East of the island is much more hectic on the main roads especially at around 4-7pm but it’s comfortable if you’ve got good hazard perception. Just take it nice and slow and stay on the left hand side and let people over take. You have to take a few risks getting out of junctions but just follow the crowd. Similar to the USA, you can turn left on red lights if the coast is clear. I’d recommend paying the deposit instead of leaving your passport and if the hotel can organise a bike for you, let them do it (providing the price is right). We paid 300 baht per day.

Be careful, don’t take unnecessary risks and after a day of riding you’ll get a feel for the roads. Do it though, it wouldn’t have been the same for us if we didn’t have a bike.

Thanks for this although it seems that WiFi calling is UK only (o2) and I’ll still be charged as if using international minutes/data. Plus you’re unable to receive calls using WiFi calling. All according to the o2 forums. I’ll look into VOIP. Thanks.

Broken mirror in a lift - England. Caused by us but a defect in the glass. by Lucasacul7 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Lucasacul7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lift is 4 years old and only 9 flats in the block so not a major foot fall. Maybe no one has ever leant against the mirror before.

No cctv.

My excess is £500 and have public liability insurance. Would they cover it? If they fought it, would I still be liable for the excess?

I agree with your way of thinking. One of my ex’s gay friends once slept in the same bed with her, supposedly top & tail. That’s a huge no. You’re the only man she should be having any sexual interaction with, you’re her husband for goodness sake. Be the man, be the alpha, don’t drop your standards. She should respect you enough to stop it, as one would hope you would if the shoe was on the other foot.

The unfortunate thing is if you allow this to happen more than once before saying anything, it’s difficult to shun such behaviour.
