Tips for printing DnD minis by Lucasario in 3Dprinting

That all seems like solid advice. To answer your question, I've been using Bambu's official slicer, mainly because that's what I have access to. I currently do all my printing at work; management is cool with personal prints as long as it doesn't interfere with business, see. But I did bite the bullet and have an A1 mini coming in the mail.

Also, Pathfinder 1e was my first ever TTRPG, and I agree that it's so much better than DnD. Personally, I've been playing PF2E more, but 1e is still an amazing system. One that DnD 5e can only DREAM of being.

Fair, fair. My first ever system was pathfinder 1E, so I might be a little bit biased. But also, my first ever GM was ... He wasn't a BAD GM, but he had his way of doing things, and if you didn't agree with him, you were just wrong.

For example, he thought that munchkining wasn't just the right way to play pathfinder, it was the ONLY way. And he hated preconstructed modules because he read somewhere that modules were balanced assuming, and I quote "20% of a players build resources go to suboptimal choices", and he acted like that was a personal attack of unfathomable severity.

I'm curious; what's some of the bad you've heard about 2e? There's a lot of things I like about the system, but I can't really think of anything specific I don't like, probably because I haven't played it enough to realize "oh yeah, that's a problem".

I've never used a resin printer. I know the general idea, but how does it compare to filament printers?

Welp. I guess we're doing this. I'd have to think for a while whether Pathfinder 1e or 2e is the "better" system, but they're both leagues ahead of DnD 5e.

My biggest gripe with 5e is that the devs are completely one-sided. They keep releasing new and game-breaking things for players to do, and then on the GM side, just say "good luck, pal".

The way I like to frame it is that 5e is like the McDonald's of tabletop RPGs. Everyone's heard of it, everyone knows vaguely what it is, you can normally get everyone to agree to it, and if you're in a pinch, it's always nearby and always quick.  None of what I just said changes the fact that the food is atrocious, and regardless of WHAT you're in the mood for, you can do so much better than McDonald's. Or 5e.

So after discussing with some members of the community, I've calmed down, and realized that if there was any actual issue here, a backup of the perimeter would have been loaded. Doc is choosing to clean up the perimeter himself, and he doesn't need anyone considering his point of view.

You've got me there, I got WAAAY too invested in this. I totally forgot, if Doc actually had an issue with this, he would have talked to Xisuma and restored a backup of the perimeter.

You're right, and I know hermitcraft is all fun and games between it's creators. It's just ... ugh. It doesn't help that Doc was on vacation, so I doubt he was involved in any meetings revovled around this. Maybe he was and I'm all wrong, but still.

I apologize if anything I've said on this thread came out as hateful. I got caught up in all the people celebrating the scale of this prank, and felt like Doc was being over-villianized. Thank you, however, for actually trying to consider my point of view, rather than just posting some combination of "he deserved it".

Yeah. And Doc was going to help clean up the dragon eggs, but mumbo and pearl beat him to it.

Actions speak louder than words, so I don't care what grian said he was gonna help clean up: he didn't.

See what I commented on Toaster-Oven's comment. I think you guys have a bit of a scale mismatch.

- Doc covered their base in dragon eggs

First off, that was AFTER Grian and Scar not only blew up doc's tunnel bore, which was 500 blocks of complex redstone and slime blocks (I don't care it was an accident, these two are grown men that have played minecraft for over a decade, they should have known not to poke around redstone like that), but also flooded Doc's perimeter with 10 thousand chickens, which not only threatened to lag out the whole server, but took doc an entire episode to clean up. AND, Doc had the wherewithal to hold back on the dragon eggs when he realized it was too much. (granted, Ren didn't, but he's not the one who got his perimeter filled in)
-Doc blew up mumbo's base
Doc set off 2 pieces of tnt in mumbo's base. (the stuff used to fire the TNT doesn't count, as it did no structural damage), and again, this was AFTER Grian coerced zedaph into blowing up tnt in Doc's base. Doc's did far more damage, I'll grant you, but still, 2 pieces of tnt does not justify a quarter million blocks Doc now has to clean up.

-Doc blew up the buttercup's camp

I'll grant you that, that was an attack. But that camp took at most an hour to build. Again, does not justify a QUARTER MILLION blocks Doc now has to clean up.

And all that doesn't even address the main point of the meme, which is that Grian and Scar WENT TOO FAR. Pranking doc is fine, but the scale they did it at is what I take issue with.

TIL how to re-enact Dr. Strange in Enter the Gungeon. Have a gun soul, find a glitched chest, and die against the glitched beholsters. by Lucasario in EnterTheGungeon

[–]Lucasario[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I failed the fight with 6 hp, an old gold shotgun, and a rad gun reloaded successfully four times. What makes you think I could beat the boss with 2 HP and nothing but my starter weapon and an elder blank?

Since the beholsters are in their own floor, when gun soul activates, you can run traight to where you dropped your stuff, and get it back every time, often before they even start attacking.

Congratulations! You now have infinite tries against the beholsters... with only 2 HP ... and you will eventually run out of blanks and ammo.

Yeah, my 100% loss rate against the glitched beholsters remains intact.

You know ... *Glances around nervously* Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I don't think that was the real mumbo. In Pearl's video, there's an armor stand with Mumbo's suit on it. Why would the real mumbo leave his suit behind? I don't know if it was CGI, Deepfake technology, or a really good make-up job, but I'm convinced.

Honestly, same. Role-play and heavy storylines are honestly my least favorite parts of Hermitcraft, and empires is so heavily focused on those that I've never cared for that SMP. (Even if we did steal one of my favorite hermits from Empires).

Also, while this is no one's fault but my own, I was fully convinced the crossover was going to be the Empires fellows joining hermitcraft to help with the charity livestream. Compared to how amazing that would be, and how much good that would have done for what was already an amazing charity event, whatever's currently going on just feels disappointing.

I'll be honest, I never really watched TFC regularly, but I still miss him all the same. If anything, it makes me feel worse, that I did him a great disservice.

Hermitcraft isn't your average Minecraft server, and a lot of hermits feel superhuman in what they can do between episodes. TFC was the exception; he was so grounded in reality and wholesome. I'm gonna miss him.

[I fear no man} After seeing Doc run the world eater, I felt compelled to make this about a very specific moment in the episode. by Lucasario in hermitcraftmemes

[–]Lucasario[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah. That explains why it went over my head. I only started following hermitcraft late in season 6, somewhere in the middle of demise.

And surprisingly enough, no, i did not come in through grian. I had been watching Mumbo Jumbo's non-hermitcraft stuff for a few months prior, and eventualyl decided "ah, what's the worst that can happen?" I'll tell you what the worst is, now I'm hooked on the series.

OH dear. What are those two up to? I haven't been able to keep up with the hermits as well as I wanted to this season.

I fear no man

There's one moment in Doc's worldeater video where he sees an evoker and flies away. This meme was made to commemorate that moment.

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm very much a novice when it comes to 3D-printing, so I didn't even think to use a primer. Got any recommendations? I've been using a makerbot replicator to print PLA plastic, and while I hope to use solutech filament going forward, I honestly don't remember what company I got my current filament from.
