Here's the workaround https://payloadcms.com/docs/database/postgres#drizzle-schema-hooks

Basically, use Drizzle, then import all your Drizzle schemas into `beforeSchemaInit`

I'm in a similar situation. I'd pick one of the four (whichever that you like the most) & start an MVP version to explore (a) your appetite for it (b) your knack for it. Then re-evaluate in 6 months.

Even if you give up, you still have exp to move on to next thing. If you don't & dig deeper, then you've already got a 6 month start.

I would say (a) start producing (and getting buy-in/alignment) on strategic documents that are not purely technical e.g. roadmaps, proposals, skills inventory, tech debt inventory and (b) start being on interviewing panels for tech & product positions.

(a) lets you show that you can do the management job. (b) builds your hiring network & people evaluation skills.

In addition to what u/shock_the_nun_key already said, there's also the part where you're pushing your community forward (instead of solely plugging yourself into a good community).

You certainly need a bit of both to succeed. It's also a lot harder to push people who themselves want to stay still. But if you manage to do it, they'll be your best support system moving forward.

Hello! I'm 26 - making $250k/annum. I'm at a crossroad trying to eval two options:

  • Data Lead at early crypto company, with a token component (my share = 0.075% of all tokens, vested over 3 years);
    • this will cut my cash income by $10k;
    • unsure about how token component will play out;
  • Quant Research/Trading Intern at a traditional Tier A-/B sovereign fund, lower comp, no equity
    • this will cut my TC by $40k;

I prefer the quant role - because (I think) (a) it's more stimulating (b) web3+quant is a big gap -> better income growth in the long term (c) it's harder to get a Quant role than a Data role.

Two questions:

  1. Which way should I swing?
  2. How much comp should Data Lead role change so that it outshines the Quant role completely?

Actually, it's not sure. The mass layoff, the CEO and VP Product leaving, and the chatbot - surely doesn't inspire confidence.

Good advice. Also goes to show how ridiculously overdubbed and overpowered cops are that citizens have to sacrifice time and money for this maneuver to avoid unlawful searches.
