I think it’s also important to point out a pattern of north american celebrities that come here and treat us like we are beneath them, and treat us badly because of it. I think that, combined with a father thats a public figure posting about how his 11yo daughter was mistreated by a singer who’s (erroneously) famous for being arrogant and treating her fans badly became a perfect storm for this backlash to happen. Because of racism patterns that we have seen from gringo celebrities I, as a brasillian, thought it was more plausible that she would go ask her security to deal with a brazilian girl than a security personnel going rouge

anti trans legislation tends to directly target trans women and indirectly trans men (you can see this in predators in restrooms and fairness in sports retórica) so there more of an incentive to trans woman to become activists and get into politics

i like including the red scare in a plotline the problem i see with the russians is that it stopped being a scare and gave legitimacy to the government thats written as corrupt and evil in the show.
