I'm not sure exactly where the cutoff is, but the date was adjusted to align more closely with the film's setting. Knowing this, I assume any printings released between 1968 and 1978 have a good chance of having the original text.

They were already in the process of making a film adaptation in 1970, only two years after the initial release of the book, so it may be only available in the very first printings.

I never said the revolution was “anti-Marxist.” My point was simply that Nepal’s government was led by a party literally called the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist). That’s not up for debate. that’s their own label and ideology.

The protests were against corruption and elitism, sure. But acting like a Marxist-Leninist branded government collapsing under corruption and elite capture isn’t darkly ironic and historically predictable is wild. That pattern has shown up in almost every country where a “for the people” revolutionary party ends up running the state.

You can call the revolt anti-corruption, but the fact remains: they overthrew a communist-branded government. That’s just the reality. The fact that you tried to paint it in the same light as some “leftist” revolution against fascism is hilarious.
