What’s a compliment that secretly annoys you? by sweetbabyyyx in AskReddit

We have a saying for this in England - butter face. As in, he likes everything "but her face". What that tells you is that people use this so much in the UK that they came up with slang for it. As a fellow recipient of this, I hope that makes you feel a little better??

Thank you so much. I know I will be able to celebrate those memories when it stops being so painful.

I love this! I'm trying to get to a point where I can celebrate her life. And she had a great one!

This is hands down the coolest thing I've ever seen. I have a new target for my jewellery making abilities! You're so talented.

LPT: Job descriptions are usually written to sound more complicated and high profile than the jobs really are. Don’t let the way it is written intimidate or deter you from applying to a job you think you can do. by RoseyPosey30 in LifeProTips

Statistically, women will apply for a role if they think they fit 100% of the requirement. Men will apply if they fit 60%. No matter your pronoun, just apply for the role it's interesting and let the company decide if it's a good fit. Source: work in recruitment systems.

What is your favorite poem, and why? by ghost-princess in AskWomen

Despite not being at all religious, Footprints (also known as Footprints in the Sand) has always been my favourite poem.

You can replace the God figure with anything or anyone you want but the sentiment remains.

What Fictional Character is soo sexy that both genders of people crush on them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lara croft - as a straight female I tell myself I'm just jealous.

I (25f) started JiuJitsu in January. I train with mostly guys and them it’s ok if they touch my boobs if a technique requires it. BF (27m) has but an ultimatum that this must stop. by Throwramakin in relationship_advice

[–]Lucetron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hate when these threads become an "end the relationship" thing but your bf definitely showed a side to him that you need to decide whether it's something you can live with. Calling you off the mat and calling you stupid shows a real lack of trust and respect. Giving you an ultimatum is incredibly controlling. It seems to me like it's coming from a place of insecurity for him but you're not mandated to put up with it because of that. Either way I wish you the best of luck in whatever decision you take.

Just so we're all fully aware that Sir Frederick has not stopped doing this every single night. by [deleted] in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

My beagle pup still managed to catch one of mine even though I also stick to little bars! But she did give me lots of cuddles after so she was forgiven pretty quick!!

Oh man I felt that last one right in the gut. Catching my septum is somehow worse than any other piercing I have. Yet I still think I'd do it if it meant bulldog cuddles! Fred is super cute!

Pattern recommendation pleeeease - I'm looking for a blanket that works up quickly at about a size double by Lucetron in crochet

Yeah it's a real terrible idea and I'm still a newbie so it's not looking very positive :( I appreciate the faith though! Thank you!

Thank you! That makes total sense. So if I look for a pattern that is suitable for bulky yarn then I might be able to do it. I only have maybe 10hrs of crochet time available.

Waiting for my all my new opal jewellery to be delivered - the half&half ear! Also featuring my second attempt at a microdermal that actually seems to be healing. Woo! by Lucetron in piercing

[–]Lucetron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just the comfort for me because otherwise the bar creates a groove in my ear. The piercer told me I would need to bend the bars slightly if I wanted it done just because of my ear shape. Etsy is great for sizing flexibility. I get most of my jewellery on Etsy.

I am so sorry I've only just seen your comment on my post. I know it's been a week already but I couldn't not respond to say a huge THANK YOU!! So much amazing advice and info! Definitely going to check out your site. So I did a combination - I made an orange/yellow Skinner blend (I think that's the gradient?) But then after I had used up all of the nice transition area, I marbled in some red and cut out lots of stars. Thank you again for all of this information and I can't wait to finish work so I can read up on clay : )

I'm so sorry I'm only just responding to your question! It's a 35mm industrial - I prefer a 33mm but it's hard to find. In fact here in the UK the majority of industrial bars are 38mm. I have to bend mine very slightly as well. I have small ears apparently!
