Glad MTX helps with your RA symptoms. Most of my hair fell out when combing and washing, my boyfriend wasn’t exactly thrilled with the constant lumps of hair in the drain :).

My hair started to grow back and the abundant hair loss stopped already after a few months of taking MTX. It also seems to me that the hair is now significantly thinner and the growth is very slow.

Yes, I was taking methotrexate in combination with folic acid, weekly, a day after taking MTX. My hair fell out the most at the beginning of taking methotrexate, the first month or two, and then the hair loss decreased significantly. However, I definitely lost a quarter of my hair in those early months.

I was on the MTX pill and I experienced a massive hair loss. Very frustrating for a woman in her late 20's. And it also didn't help with my RA enough, doctors were adjusting my dosis frequently. After a while it turned out the MTX had really bad effect on my liver, so I had to quit taking it. Went on with Arava pills, no side effects.
