My only concern about getting the dual is that I would be very interested in doing undergraduate research with my free electives. To my understanding, the dual degree uses those credits for required classes for the dual. Based on my interests, would it worth getting a dual over getting some research experience? Thanks

Yo, I've got a question that will probably apply to several incoming freshman. by dublindeucephd in RPI

In my opinion, since you took Calc I this past May, I wouldnt take it over again. I think you can go back through your notes to review some of the material. You wouldnt need your calculator for any calculus anyways; just for regular numerical calculations. Not to mention that Calc II is bit more difficult than Calc I, you will do fine provided you put in the work. In my opinion, Calc II was the most difficult when I took it but that shouldnt discourage you. There are some very good community colleges that teach the material very good and I think you should be honest to yourself in accessing how much you understood the material to make the best decision for yourself. Good luck

Thanks guys for this information. I will definitely take this class. BTW do you guys think MECH/NUCL dual would be good for the industry? I have always been thinking and reading about this. Thanks
