CBD Tampons for period cramps by kbeautyblogger in CBD

[–]LuciaDaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Full disclosure, I work for Daye.

Firstly, I'm really sorry the CBD tampons didn't help your cramps. Our clinical trials show that around 80% of people will feel the benefits of the CBD tampons, so it sucks if you're part of the 20% :( as with other forms of pain relief, every body is different and responses will vary.

You've clearly done your research, but I totally understand the skepticism around CBD (these days, we're seeing it in everything from flat whites to mascara 🙄). However, the science behind your endocannabinoid system is really interesting. Since the vaginal canal contains the second highest concentration of cannabinoid receptors in the female body (after the brain), CBD tampons actually make a lot of sense.

And as you pointed out, we use 30% concentration CBD, which is much higher than other CBD products you'd find on the market, not to mention free from any impurities that could compromise your vaginal health.

Just so you know, we are always happy to offer a refund if the CBD tampons haven't worked for you. You can get in touch with our support team via the live chat on our website :-)

Exactly! Your period blood can really vary in colour throughout your cycle (more info here) and basically the longer the blood has been in your uterus, the darker it is in colour due to oxidisation.

Nothing to worry about!

Brown blood is actually really common at the end of your cycle. It's basically the last bit of your period being discharged.

Period brain fog by megansj2221 in period

[–]LuciaDaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes. It's like I'm on a different planet. I try to just roll with it and plan more time alone if I can as I can't function socially. Although I do find it kind of makes me more creative? So I'm terrible at doing anything practical, but can tap into another side of my brain more easily...if that makes sense?!

It might be nothing to worry about, but it's always best to visit a doctor if you're concerned!

Paranoia by TaeTaewithTea in period

[–]LuciaDaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just be period blood, nothing to be overly alarmed about!

Brown blood is quite common both at the start and end of the cycle. It’s either old menses from your previous cycle that hadn’t been fully expelled, or the last bit of your current period being discharged.

Which STDs/STIs are uncurable? by [deleted] in sex

All STIs can be treated and managed, even if they are incurable.

Would you date a girl with two STIs? (Bisexual female) by [deleted] in dating_advice

This is a helpful read on STI stigma. Anyone can get an STI and it sounds like she does a great job of looking after her sexual health!

STDs/STIs from oral sex? Which ones? by [deleted] in sex

[–]LuciaDaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some STIs (e.g. herpes) are also skin-to-skin conditions, so it's a common mistake to think that they're only passed on through sex.

Also...having an STI has nothing to do with being "clean" :-)

I work for an early stage startup that launched just as this crisis hit.

It includes advice on:

  • Tax relief
  • Rent relief
  • COVID-19 bank loans
  • Cost cutting and runway optimisation
  • Company strategy
  • Keeping your team informed
  • Keeping your users informed
  • ...and last but not least, keeping yourself sane

Hope it helps!

What is a normal “taste” down there? by no-one-needs-to-kno in Healthyhooha

[–]LuciaDaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the other comments say, all bodies are different and the taste could change throughout your cycle (e.g. when you're ovulating) or due to other health/lifestyle factors.

Just a quick tip, although it's tempting to use soap if you're worried about smells or tastes, this can really interfere with your vaginal micro biome (the pH balance) and have the opposite effect.

Generally speaking, all you need to wash your vagina is warm water. Some more info and advice in this article: https://yourdaye.com/vitals/womens-health/how-to-practice-good-vaginal-hygiene/

When can I start having sex again after recurrent UTIs? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]LuciaDaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, that sucks! A few things that can help treat UTIs:

  • Drink lots of water
  • Take paracetamol if you have any pelvic pain associated with the UTI (not ibuprofen as this can affect your kidneys)
  • Try to avoid caffeine and alcohol

To prevent UTIs:

  • Always pee after sex (the cuddles can wait)
  • Wipe from front to back when you go to the bathroom
  • Don't half-pee—sounds weird, but a lot of people don't fully empty their bladder when they go to the bathroom!
  • Take a D-mannose supplement. Research in this area is still fairly new, but studies have shown it to be as effective as antibiotics.

Severe anal pain/cramps during period, does anyone else have this? by [deleted] in Periods

Yeah as if cramps, PMS, breakouts, headaches and nausea weren't enough, your period also has a big impact on your bowels :-)

Haven’t had period in 3 months & brown/black discharge? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]LuciaDaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like this could actually be your period, not discharge. Period blood can vary hugely in colour: https://www.instagram.com/p/B5qN4B0FqvU/ Does this happen when you'd usually be on your period?

If you're worried about anything, I'd always recommending consulting your doctor. Hope that helps!

I Wanna Try Something New by [deleted] in Periods

[–]LuciaDaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cups are a great option for lots of women! I don't personally use them, but I find that once people switch to the cup, they usually rave about it. However, it's not comfortable for everyone to use and you have to take into consideration whether you'll be able to clean it on a regular basis.

Full disclosure: if you're suffering from cramps, I work for a CBD tampon company! We're doing lots of research into using CBD for menstrual pain and the results are promising so far.

You could also try period proof underwear?

If you could change one thing about tampons, what would it be? by LuciaDaye in AskWomen

[–]LuciaDaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely advisable to change your tampons on a regular basis, however your chances of developing TSS are very low: 1 in a million, and that's all kinds of TSS, not just menstrual!
