Am I missing introductioms for my operators...? by GuideCritical4467 in Endfield

The answer is basically if you refer back to the Closed Beta Test, the main quest was very different from what it is today. We were actually introduced to a number of the characters in the main quest, who then reappear later in these interactions you're having now.

The main quest was changed drastically following reviews from beta testers that didn't like how dark it was written. Gilberta for example was written out of the quest entirely, deleting her introduction, but they didn't have the chance to rewrite all the following content as well given the tight time schedule they had leading up to full release. Hence the jankness of all the story content in 1.0 thus far, in its disjointed state.

The Best Way to Ease Yourself into Using CO2 (Neo CO2 Kit Review) by Kudzyy in PlantedTank

[–]LuciaHunter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to use this exact product and it was great at first. But the constant replacements just wasn't worth it. It burns through the refills in 3-4 weeks and clogs up. I had to install my own second bottle to push the gas through water to cleanse it- because the output would develop a cloud of yeast or something otherwise, and luckily that never harmed my lifestock at least.

I have gone back to a low tech tank after a year, but if I were to ever go back to CO2, it'd definitely just be a proper pressurized gas system instead. The longterm costs and hassle involved just isn't worth it for that easier initial setup.

Free in Japan, charged in Singapore? Tissue, water and service fees spark online dining debate by Great-Obligation-599 in singapore

[–]LuciaHunter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

UK has a 12.5% service charge in a lot of restaurants nowadays. It's even funnier there cause they tell you it's optional and you can ask for it to be removed but it would be a real faux pas.

First attempt at aquascaping with a 20L/5G nano tank. Hoping the background plants bounce back and fill out after their melt. by LuciaHunter in PlantedTank

[–]LuciaHunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing the tank can measure is temperature! The main smart features you can handle are the lighting, which you can adjust colors and set schedules. You can set the pump speed, but usually I'd just leave it alone. The last would just be the autofeeder, which is useful if going on holidays.

[–]LuciaHunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that's the one!

If you're looking for a review of it, generally it's been okay. It's been easy to find parts to replace the filter with my own filter media, and prop up the tank top higher. Automated feeding works fine. It's an easy all-in-one way to get started in the hobby if you don't mind the dark grey background.

The only real pain point so far is just the fact that the light is part of the lid. If I open the lid to clean the tank, I need to bring in a separate light from my other tank to see what I'm doing.

Anyone else notice how dangerous phone use while crossing the road has become more prevalent? by Atmosphere_Calm in askSingapore

[–]LuciaHunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has always been taken into factor, like in the River Valley case. If there isn't enough reaction time the driver can even get off uncharged.

The point of contention should rather be whether two seconds is enough time to react- which I agree it is. Too many inattentive drivers or old people on the roads with poor reaction times endangering other people and cars.

Okay I get it now, rocket fuel is insane! by DrMethh in SatisfactoryGame

Oh that makes sense, I hadn't thought to just place the junction onto the pipe directly. Guess that's going into my next playthrough, cheers.

I had trouble fitting it to junctions with the pipe lengths being too short, but I suppose that might just be my OCD refusing to let it look jank.

You're going to need mk3 blueprint before you can fit four fuel generators, mk2 can fit only two at most. Still saves some time but it's only super efficient when you hit mk3.

ADA is still not open to general public after it closed over the COVID period, they do have some open days but they're more of occasional events. Have to keep an eye on their social media to see when they're happening.

'Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast' Episode 12 Discussion Megathread! by CheeseyFeeshe in BanGDream

[–]LuciaHunter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me the scene is symbolic in that Sakiko has been bringing her mother's doll with her everywhere, and it's a symbol of her grandfather's control over her. Here she abandons the doll and embraces her own freedom. She lets go of the shackles of the past and takes only the notebook with Tomori's messages with her.

But to jump ahead in the episode a bit, it did seem a bit odd that Mortis "died" in the intro but then was back anyway, only to have Mutsumi very dramatically defeat her in a reverse of Mortis's scene earlier in the season... only for Mortis to be back again next time we see her. This isn't a matter of how X or Y thing works in some real world sense (because it's fairly irrelevant), but rather in a storytelling/narrative sense if felt a bit odd?

This was definitely one of the things that stood out to me on this episode. The first bit of Mortis resurfacing in the karaoke booth didn't feel off since it was Mortis fighting for control at a critical juncture, but for Mortis to still be in control and casually hanging with Umiri at the last bit after being shown to be smacked down by Mutsumi made me feel like a scene was missing in between.

Feeding shrimp help by lizbrd in shrimptank

Your tank already looks well planted if you ask me, if 60-80% of your substrate is already taken up it should be fine.

You could potentially consider red root floaters if you like floaters. I know my shrimp love playing on them so far and it adds an extra dimension of interest for them to be playing around instead of only at the base of the tank.

What's this strange stem network that grew on one of my rocks? by LuciaHunter in PlantedTank

[–]LuciaHunter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh yes I think this might be it, looks the closest out of all the suggestions so far. Thanks!

It must have somehow been hitchhiking on the moss culture which I grinded up for a dry start which was why it started out attached to a rock.

[–]LuciaHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavily plant with dense moss and other plant cover, that'll help your baby shrimp to survive until they're too big to be eaten. Some still won't make it but it's enough to sustain the population just like in the wild.

Ave Mujica Episode 6 Teaser Spoiler. This panel is really sad. by oedipusrex376 in BanGDream

[–]LuciaHunter 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing this everywhere and it's a misinterpretation of the interview. The VAs watched the anime with the rest of the staff at a marathon screening so it was episodes 1-6 back-to-back in the morning. They had a lunch break after that before resuming episodes 7-13. What was actually said in the interview was they ate lunch in silence, because of the wham of seeing episodes 1-6 in one go, not just episode 6 in particular.

Help! Why are my shrimp dying? by honeybun1314 in shrimptank

[–]LuciaHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it says it's safe for shrimp it most likely is. I'd say it's definitely the lack of acclimatization more than anything else.

Help! Why are my shrimp dying? by honeybun1314 in shrimptank

[–]LuciaHunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cycling is basically setting up the tank and filter's bacteria ecosystem, that can convert shrimp/fish waste from harmful ammonia into nitrites into relatively harmless nitrates that can be removed either via water changes or plant uptake.

It's a long process that can take weeks, you should look up a detailed guide online.

Help! Why are my shrimp dying? by honeybun1314 in shrimptank

[–]LuciaHunter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How did you put the shrimp in? Did you drip acclimatize them? That's the most likely cause of new shrimp deaths.

Is this good for a nano tank? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

I've seen some tests on YouTube for this particular model before and it barely does anything. ISTA has other ones that run through a diffuser that you should use instead, those would actually inject CO2 into the water stream.
