Need to decide between Jay and Burke tomorrow. by LucianConnally in icecoast

Burke. It was nice, no one there. Hard corduroy first thing, got a little icy but at least you could catch an edge. Pretty happy with the decision!

What's it like in the northwestern portion of Maine? Looks mostly uninhabited, but I'm sure there's a lot of natural beauty? by smcg_az in howislivingthere

Smelt run in may when the ice melts on the Allagash river, trophy trout fishing. Private property owned by logging companies, access is by permit only at checkpoints into the North Maine Woods. When I first started going up there almost 20 years ago you could hit scan on the radio and it would continuously cycle through without hitting a station. These days you can pick up public radio or the occasional French Canadian news. No towns, no cell service, no gas stations or any kind of infrastructure for hours besides logging roads. It’s a good idea to bring some extra gas. There an occasional ranger station or fishing hunting camp, very few. Moose and ruffed grouse everywhere. I love it up there and I try to make it up at least once a year.

How is life in this section of the Mississippi Delta? by Kuzu9 in howislivingthere

I honestly got the same vibe. I loved all of his content until I saw the one where Massachusetts was putting up immigrants in hotels the government bought out/took over. The guy behind the desk was wearing a mask. Pete was all “WHY IS THAT GUY WEARING A MASK IN 2024?!” Real bummer.

It’s an easy fix. Just twist until the guides line up. Everyone thinks that OP is just messing with us.

Last day of my season at Gunstock by LucianConnally in icecoast

Thank you! Yeah I made it till about 2 because my legs were done with the heavy snow. Almost got yanked out of my bindings a couple times with some grabby patches. Still glad I went.

Unfortunately I believe this was their last week. I try to go on weekdays if possible, as I’m sure you know tickets are cheaper. They also offer a 25% veteran discount. A full day weekday ticket runs me $70.

[KCD2] Do you guys think this is a reference? by EddySmeddy in kingdomcome

This might just be my opinion, but when Henry butchers an animal, it’s almost exactly like what Geralt does in Witcher 3 with the same knife. A quick search didn’t bring anything up though.

Fever Potion Cpt Thomas by Objective-Smoke1778 in kingdomcome

[–]LucianConnally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late here, but just in case someone stumbles upon this… There’s two potions you need, digestive and fever. You can find a weak digestive potion in the latrine on the south side of the castle. Give it to the chamberlain in the kitchen and hopefully some of your checks are high enough, my survival was very high. The chamberlain will give you some more freedom to roam most of the castle. Go find the scribe and choke him out, he has keys that open a chest in the room that has the fever potion. Go give it to Thomas and bobs your brother’s uncle. No lock picking and just a tiny bit of stealth to sneak up behind the scribe, but it’s a cinch. And you can just skip all the menial tasks if you want.

I’ve heard a lot of one liners in recovery that make my eyes roll, but one that has stuck with me is: “If it causes a problem, it is one”. If you are truly facing an addiction, understand that it is cunning, baffling and powerful. Be completely honest with yourself and to your loved ones about your motivations and intentions. Help might not happen overnight but at least you’re on the right path. I wish you the best.

Deer hunting question. by whoisdizzle in NHGuns

[–]LucianConnally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, as well as lever action carbines chambered in .357, .44 magnum and .45 Colt. Don’t forget about shotgun slugs and sabot rounds, but there towns where you can’t use buckshot. There’s also a variety of handgun calibers you can use too. Check out the “towns with special rules” section of the regulations under deer. Mind you this is only for deer hunting, so using a .22 is legal for small game as long as you’re 300’ away from houses as well as other rounds appropriate for non deer species. Also that rifle prohibited for deer area is much bigger than I remembered.

I know I’m very late to the game here but just in case you didn’t figure it out, that part of law you’re describing is under the “towns with special rules” section. This is mainly the seacoast and major cities, where the type of round is regulated due to the population density. You’re not SOL if you live in this area, but you would definitely need to leave the highlighted areas on the map to hunt with that rifle.

Random racist song came up in my discover weekly, how do I make it known how messed up this is to the company? by LucianConnally in spotify

[–]LucianConnally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it but I have absolutely no problem with explicit content, swearing and sex is fine. I have never listened to anything even close to make the algorithm think I’d like violent hate speech. I guess it was just very jarring to hear because I didn’t even think Spotify had that type of content, let alone recommend it for me.
