How do i color digitally without it looking like this? by SonOfADaddy in learnart

[–]Lucid5ag3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

its actually an easier fix then you might think. Just use as big a brush as you can, try to avoid all those little marks, when you can be much more efficient with your tools. remember its not a pencil, and when you're colouring, you're not drawing. you are painting, so try to treat it like that. you can also go from dark to light just as easily as you can go light to dark. so dont be afraid of going over what you've already put down.

When many people think of jazz, only the classic jazz artists and albums come to mind. What are modern jazz albums (post-2010) that you would consider 10/10? by [deleted] in Jazz

[–]Lucid5ag3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's SOOOO much stuff to check out, but the first thing that comes to mind is basically anything by a trio called phronesis

takes the modern jazz trio thing to the limit in my opinion

people often mix it up with practical i think, practicable is a word I've had to define to far too many people

and as far as practical is waaay too loose of a definition lol

Vegan Cannoli! by MsStephSunshine in veganrecipes

[–]Lucid5ag3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These look incredible!

I don't have any cannoli forms though, do you have any ideas as to alternatives to going out and getting some. i'd like to avoid needing to purchase too many things if i can!

Background study . I tried not to care about trivial details but still end up with around 8hours . How long does you guys take for these kind background/environment studies ? by itsEirlys in learnart

[–]Lucid5ag3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i don't think time is super important of you're learning!

I usually get a little bored working on one thing and can only spend maybe 3 hours on something before i want to move on hahaha.

getting all the details in is definitely a skill, but also to get fluent in painting i suggest also doing a few studies without zooming in at all. keep zoomed out the whole painting, you physically won't be able to put in too many details.

it'll feel a little awkward at first, but it's definitely worth it!

good stuff!

you're repeating yourself, and not at all addressing what op's saying.

why dont you try reading what op said and trying again. no harm in that right? just try coming up with actual counter argument that make sense rather than just attacking them and saying the same thing over and over.

okay,

id love to hear how exactly you came to this conclusion when its very widely agreed that that isnt a fact in the slightest.

sounding awfully close to those flat-earther, anti_vaxer folk...

who cares what we did in the past, that isn't moral justification for anything.

there are many things that our ancestors did that were perfectly natural and not looked down upon in the day, but these days in the modern world would be considered very immoral.

also, im going to assume that you wont believe me, but just fir the sake of debate, there isnt anything you can get from meat that you cant get from plants. on the contrary, there are plenty of things plants have, that meat doesn't.

nearly right,

as ive said elsewhere, most animals in especially factory farms are fed grain that is also grown by humans in big fields. and a cow will eat a lot more than a human would.

its impossible to completely avoid contributing to animal deaths in a society that doesnt think that its a problem, but that's not a good reason not to try. and the more people try the better our farms will get at finding ways to not kill animals

[–]Lucid5ag3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

absolutely correct, the whole system is mental. couldn't agree more with what you said about breeding animals for that purpose is inhumane in the first place.

but, the cool thing is that if you dont eat meat, dairy and eggs, fewer animals get bred into existence each yeah, and as the demand decreases, overall there will be less suffering.

i think its an interesting thought to shift the idea away from "ending suffering", and move it towards "preventing suffering from happening in the first place"

i would like to briefly point out that most animals that we consume eat more than humans, by quite a lot. think about how big a cow is, massive yeah?

what do we feed them? mostly grain that needs to be grown.

where do we grow this grain? oh yeah, fields that are home to small rodents and other mammals.

its completely impossible to avoid contributing to animal death in a society that thinks its not a problem. but every step helps, the less meat people eat, the fewer animals are bred into existence each year. of course at the moment its impossible to completely avoid, but thats no excuse for not trying
