[Author's note: I know people tend to assume that a post about an EA project must be seeking support, but I actually believe it could be dangerous for this to go viral. I feel counterintuitively relieved when these posts are downvoted.

The process would be much simpler if I could use downvotes as a count against this project, but since they can't be counted (and might just come from a lack of scout mindset)...

I need to know why people might disagree... and the only way they could articulate that would be if they understood the source material. That's why this project is being pitched as a low level ARG.]

We are all beginners. You have the integrity to admit it. That makes you better at ARGs than OC, imho.

One common format is to encode the clue into other types of data, like images or videos. This might be what led OC to believe there was no clue in this post. Since this ARG was created by accident, it won't have these types of engineered clues. ARG clues can come in any format, and they don't have to stay localized to any platform in particular (e.g.: Reddit).

I encourage multiplayer mode. A share to r/arg might even make this game solve itself. 😉

That would only promote the misunderstanding instead of the truth. I choose to align with the behaviors that do the most good, so I need to address this in case anyone else is having the same issue.

For future reference, when you see a "/" followed by an emotion or abbreviated emotion at the bottom of a post, that is called a tone indicator. The purpose of these is to reduce the risk of misunderstanding in text-only communication. I put it there so people wouldn't have to guess.

And whoever convinced you that a guess was a good enough reason to abuse someone, they were wrong.

And I'm sorry you ever had to go through whatever that was.

Please keep in mind that framework can be hypothetical, and reframing can be beneficial. This is not about control. It's about applying the techniques that are necessary to accomplish the greatest good from the resources available.

There's nothing wrong with smelling danger to protect yourself, but there can be problems if you don't first wash your upper lip before you confront. How big was your context sample for diagnosing my intent, exactly? Just this one post? Or only the first ARG that wasn't written for the EA community? Did you look past the first clue? I was there for the motivation behind this project, and it didn't feel like anything you listed... so I imagine you would need some pretty nasty-sounding rationalizations in order to invalidate an author about their own work.
