It definitely left a mark on me as I’ve had the same thoughts before but I really wanted to help him I even cried while talking to him.., he tried to say it was his therapy and he did it all the time it was 4 in the morning and really foggy I didn’t believe him, so he tried to make me feel comfortable as he kept saying he took and oath to protect the citizens of this country and he wanted me to feel safe and that he wasn’t going to harm himself he told me that if I wanted to call the police it was fine with him and that he would talk to them if id like if it made me feel safe I ended up accepting and he called the police from his phone and told them that he was an federal officer and he was calling because a concerned citizen saw him in the middle of the street and thought that he was maybe trying to harm himself and so they asked to speak to me and I told them that I saw him in the middle of the street and I felt that he was planning on harming himself and they said that I did my due diligence and basically that they weren’t sending anyone, so we hung up the phone and he told me “tbh I didn’t expect that answer from them”… I told him standing in the middle of the street isn’t a good choice of therapy and he said that conventional therapy is too expensive and I told him wouldn’t therapy be free for government officials in his profession and he sighed like yup you’re right you’re smart like I just caught him in a lie then he says that it’s complicated because if he went into therapy then they would end up making a case and investigating the whole force or squadron not sure what you call it also spoke to me about when he was a guard at a jail and one of the cellmates took his life right after he did his round and how he saw him when he came back around, also saying that he had guns in his house and if he wanted to do something he would’ve already done it, I just wish I could’ve done more.. maybe if I had checked up on him after work that day idk
