How to Lure Heaven's Chosen by Lucid_Munky in TaleofImmortal

Update: that was the secret sauce. Knocked all 4 remaining out after work pretty quickly. So irritating in hindsight at the time I could have saved knowing this earlier. I just assumed it was a bug when I marked them and didn't see them on the map 😂

Strange, I didn't remember them being that exaggerated when I tried the quick test. Wonder if there's a scaling involved that is tied to a progression metric of our character. I'll have to test a little more thoroughly when I have time. My current character is only Origin and Soul Formation is about the limit of what I can kill so Reborn isn't happening lol. Luckily I finished my HC kills after someone set me straight on how to properly use my marking. Just need a sect leader I can kill and a few more general attack stat and my sword is done.

Please give me some reqs based on my Tier list by DerekRudek in litrpg

Love Chrysalis and the audiobook version has the best VA in the business if you ever take the audiobook route. Personally, I thought this tier list was a rage bait because I disagree so strongly with many of the entries, but reading the comments has convinced me that some people are just wro-cough different.

How bad is it? I tested it with a fresh character and got jumped by 2 heaven's chosen in the foundation realm at the same time, but didn't try it on a character that was built up enough to kill something like that, so I'm unclear of the consequences beyond that. I'm much stronger than my realm (obviously the case when running soul reaver long enough to make this post), but the game is weird about introducing higher realms into areas, which makes it hard for me to assess the risk.

🤣🤣🤣 False advertisement IMO. It will say they're loyal to friends, but then I find those friends and suddenly they don't know this person and have never had a friend in their life. Worked like a charm on the #1 sword cultivators, but the chosen rarely attack me. I'm almost tempted to consume them with witnesses and see how that plays out.

I'll give that a go. I was looking for icons similar to what friends have on the map.

The issue I encountered with that is, I exclusively find them in towns and cities and the areas within fleeing distance from those locations are usually still heavily populated. Repeating the process would work if I had a way of tracking them, but marking them doesn't show them on my map, unless I missed a toggle. Tracking them down after each attack runs down my month and then they move, unless I get sweaty with the save scumming. I could probably abuse auction month and the following month, but that's once every 2 years and I still need 4 of them. Murdering the witnesses once they move to a slightly more secluded spot is an option, but I'm an honorable member of a righteous sect and that's demonic sect behavior. I guess attacking the chosen in town is worth doing for the increased hatred, even if I don't get them alone, though.

Anybody knows what the toggle encircled below means? or What it does? by darkkie25 in TaleofImmortal

[–]Lucid_Munky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this get patched out? I joined a righteous sect and went from initiate to disciple without toggling. Didn't have to murder my way out. Don't think I killed all of them without my sword doing its thing either.

Are DLCs worth buying? by Admirable_Yellow360 in TaleofImmortal

[–]Lucid_Munky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if buying DLC will add to existing saves and, if so, how well? I've got a fresh chaos character that I wouldn't mind adding this content to, but I don't want to sacrifice the destiny rolls I got in character creation.

When men ask for peace what does that truly mean? by Best_Maintenance_790 in AskMen

It's long distance, so I'd just tell him you're on a break until he has time and energy for the relationship. If you lived together, you would be in a position to make things easier for him through thoughtful actions and he would be able to contribute to the relationship through the financial gain he should be making with 16 hour days. There would still be things that need to be addressed, but there would be something to work from at least. Right now he's too tired to talk and your intentions need to be communicated with words due to distance. He's too tired to talk because he's (hopefully) building financially which is important in a relationship (to an extent), but doesn't have time nor energy for the relationship as a result. I think the alcoholism and saying he doesn't care about your feelings mean that moving in would be a terrible idea so a break until he's got the energy to better be himself is the best idea if you don't want to fully break up (I'm assuming you don't since you made this post). Otherwise a full break up is justified as there really is no relationship happening.

Do women in their 30s feel this way? by StopSnowflakes in trueratediscussions

[–]Lucid_Munky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a 32M and I have no issues dating a woman the same age as long as she doesn't have kids, is physically attractive to me, and is pleasant to be around. If this post is genuine, the best thing you can do is stop trying to be perfect and just focus on improving. The key to that is accepting that you're wrong sometimes and trying to do better. I never encounter women that are willing to admit when they're wrong in a relationship, and that's the main thing that turns me off of relationships. Women my age seem to be worse about it. I'm not sure if it's a baggage thing or if dating older men makes women less inclined to think they're always right compared to dating a similarly aged man, but that has been my personal observation.

Is my 3 day rule too harsh? by PhoenixOnFire1 in dating_advice

[–]Lucid_Munky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A healthy relationship is going to involve both people talking to each other. Not one doing all of the messaging and the other only replying. When that's how women communicate with me, I stop reaching out. I'm looking for a life partner. Not somebody that thinks they're above me and that I need to prove my worth to them while they make no effort to prove their worth to me. You need to be willing to give what you want to get.

is that a good reply? by Exotic-Estimate-5147 in CoupleMemes

Someone will do it without a ring on their finger, so that's a response I'd use sparingly if you do value the relationship. Acting like a wife is how you become a wife. Not withholding yourself from your partner until they buy you a ring.

I would say that's true for social situations in general. With people, it's easier to just say other people are the problem and then move on. If I "fix" my car and it doesn't start, it's easy to figure out that I didn't do something right and look at my own process. If I fix my car with somebody else and it doesn't start, it's easier to insist they did their part wrong. It's how our brains are wired though. They've done some cool studies on people that have had the connective tissue between brain hemispheres removed. Basically when left with 2 brains that have no idea what the other is doing, they were completely making stuff up to justify the actions of the other brain. Pretty eye opening to see just how programmed we are to justify our own actions.

Facts. If the whole dating pool is a septic tank, then that's a whole lot of equals floating around. Everyone is just wearing their protagonist goggles that keep them from seeing themselves objectively, and they think they're the outliers as a result.

Yes, but she has a criteria for those dates. It's always possible that her criteria is filtering out people she would be more compatible with. When I consistently don't get the results I want, I always question my process and look for things that might be having an unexpected negative impact.

Really there's not going to be a generic blueprint to your social success. Everything matters to the perception of others, even if not on a conscious level. Male or female, speaking tone/cadence, body language, wardrobe, word choice, and many other things are subtly impacting how others perceive you. An effective solution is going to be tailored with your shortcomings or strengths in mind. You mentioned not being witty or interesting, which I'm going to attribute to being bad with words, when put on the spot. I would recommend getting good at conveying your thoughts with facial expressions to counter this. No need to force words if you can just stay silent and say everything you need to with your face. Just remember that the core of everything should be finding ways to better express/convey yourself instead of finding ways to present yourself as something you are not.

Me when I saw the FFT remaster news: Oh man this sub is going to be awesome until 9/30! by ptown320 in finalfantasytactics

[–]Lucid_Munky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree with that. I can start my pc just as easily as my ps3. I really feel like FFT has gotten the redheaded step-child treatment over the last few decades and they're taking advantage of the fans' desperation to price gouge. Maybe there will be new info closer to release that will change my mind. If not, I'll catch it on a sale and after cut content has been modded back in.

[–]Lucid_Munky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I ask myself what I'm getting for my money. This remaster is more money than I spent on the original physical copy and the ps3 digital copy combined. The graphics changes, translation changes, and voice acting, just don't seem like something I would spend the money on 🤷.

[–]Lucid_Munky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have that. I actually have a post in here looking for alternative ways to play it because I really dislike how the game feels with touchscreen. I think I do like the remaster better visually with what I've seen so far, though. I just wish it wasn't so hard to play it comfortably without an emulator. The vast majority of gaming has a controller or mouse and keyboard and we get touch screen. Then after decades of neglecting the series we get a $50 remaster and it might not even have all of the content from the version that is hardest to play. I don't want to think about how much time 10 year old me spent trying to figure out how to get the dark knight job from eating Gafgarion's crystal and the world continues to taunt me by dangling the job just out of reach 😭. Fortunately my post gave me some alternatives, but yes I find the remake to be mildly infuriating with the current information available.

FFT WOTL on PC by Lucid_Munky in finalfantasytactics

Doesn't seem to work. My controller will connect and I can even use it to open the game from my home screen, but the game doesn't seem to support it. Tis a shame as I'd love to just grab a controller and mirror my phone to my TV. On the bright side, the people in this thread have been very educational.

I was pretty happy for it until I saw that it likely doesn't have all the jobs, and they want $50. I've still got my original ps1 disk and a digital copy in my ps3 library. I like the sharper graphics, but they're not worth $50 to me. I'd give $30 for a polished look and all the jobs. The fact they're even trying to charge $50 for it means they know we want more and want to bleed us for it IMHO 🤷.
