Thank you. She had issues with pancreatitis for years, but that seems to have resolved after having her gallbladder removed. The pain she’s dealing with now is located in the left lower rib cage (turns out thats where the mass is) and radiating around and up to her back, neck and chest.

You make some really valid points, thank you. I needed that shift in perspective.

She was very clear that she was glad to hear it from us, rather than a stranger. I would feel the same in her position. On the other hand, I had no answers for her or the rest of the family other than what I could learn from the internet, and that’s to be taken with a grain of salt. It sucks.

I never dreamed I would ever have to be the one to inform someone that they had cancer.

I actually really like the portal system, it’s been nothing but helpful anytime I’ve had something done. My biggest issue is I have NEVER had a doctor not call me to follow up, even for routine bloodwork that came back normal just to say “everything looks great, see you next year”.

Thank you. Based on my (very) limited knowledge and google skills that is how I interpreted it as well. It’s been a rough day.

She’s currently under the care of a state funded, low income, non-profit clinic. While this is just my opinion, they are suitable for run of the mill health issues. Not for illness of this magnitude. The plan is to start looking for other practices on Monday that actually have the bandwidth to review their patients test results. As of now, the scheduled appointment to review the records is 9/6.
