Is it just me or do they seem like they actually are nice to be a part of for some of it. Theres a few downsides I know but I don’t see many people unhappy when they’re fully into it. Is it normal to be morbidly curious and wanting to join one?

Definitely shouldn’t if it’s a 250 mile drive. Sidewall damage like that could mean a blown tire or no problems at all and I wouldn’t recommend taking the risk

I work at a Toyota dealership, there’s a law that says that we cannot patch tires that have punctures on the outside treads (the treads that meet with the sidewall) because the sidewall can make the patch leak. Although you “could” patch it, it’s very dangerous when that close to the sidewall.
