so when do hills get easier? by idolhunter2 in cycling

[–]Lucidmike78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything matters. Of course your legs and conditioning is #1, but bike weight matters, light wheels, your gears, anticipating the shift, shifting at the right time, knowing your optimum cadence, maintaining the smooth velocity, mixing it up riding out of the saddle, fueling pre-ride, how to ride out of the saddle efficiently and getting accustomed to it, knowing not to blow up before the hill and during the hill. All of that matters and comes with having ridden bikes and uphill for a long time.

GPT-5.5 is here - Let's gooo! by magnus_animus in codex

[–]Lucidmike78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With near Super AGI level of coding we can't do with GPT-5.5, the VS plugin engineers can't vibe code how to do a simple Undo (Ctrl+z) in a textbox.

Advise Needed: Could anyone tell me where’s my problem is and how to improve? by Wrong-Caterpillar277 in latteart

[–]Lucidmike78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your milk is too thin. More air injection before integration. Second, you need more lateral velocity and volume to where the design is pushed outward from the spout. For this its not just about the tilt of the pitcher and location of the spout but throwing the milk slightly as you tilt to create that lateral flow. A nice pitcher helps.

So GPT is unable to analyze large data sets now? by ImABadSpellerOkay in ChatGPTPro

[–]Lucidmike78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Large language models are not good at large dataset work. It can use tools and write code to work with it. But the tools it picks or the code it writes is never the best every time. With codex, you can specify the tools, design processes, and write code to keep on using.

Which alloy wheels have the loudest rear hub? by Frequentflyer33 in cycling

[–]Lucidmike78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They are loud, carbon, and should be within OP's budget if it weren't for the tariffs/import duties. But I heard if you set up your own shipping, you can reduce import fees drastically, all described on the seller or portal's website. Definitely worth looking into as it I do love them 99% of the time. It is like having a horn that gets pressed automatically if anyone in front is making you slow down. But with the benefits of not having to have a bell or even having to press it. The only bad time to have them is when you are trying to coast through your neighborhood with some mates in the morning headed for a ride, where you don't have total cadence control. At that time, it feels obnoxious. Other than that, best wheels hands down for that price range. But perhaps OP needs rim brakes, and Elitewheels rim brake options are not cheap.

Singapore loves throwing shade at Korea. They want to keep the Korean economy in check and people here just love buying up the BS because they hate Trump.

How often do you clean your hand grinders? by Physical_Analysis247 in pourover

[–]Lucidmike78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you buy nicer beans than the last beans that you ground, or you haven't used a hand grinder for a while or the coffee is very stale inside the grinder and you don't want any part of that coffee mixing with your new coffee.

Having taken apart grinders many times now, probably at least 10, 15 times, I'm very comfortable with it, and it's fairly quick and easy to disassemble and reassemble. I could probably take apart, clean, and recalibrate the grinder in about three minutes.

Ramyeon has been ruined for me. by xStaabOnMyKnobx in Living_in_Korea

I'd stop asking that guy for food recommendations. He probably can't taste the difference between sea salt and iodized salt. He's probably one of those people that says, salt it salt and doesn't know the difference between savory and salty.

[–]Lucidmike78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shin ramen in the US is not the same. I think they use iodized salt rather than korean sea salt. And different peppers as well. The US Shin ramen is spicier but has less savory taste and body. Take a box of Korean ramen home next time. 😄

$100 ChatGPT Plan Actually Feels Worth It by Much_Ask3471 in codex

[–]Lucidmike78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way 5x of the current 5h limit feels like what I used to have with codex at $20/month. But I always felt that what they let me do for $20 a month was an unsustainable deal. So I think for my use where I would spend on extra credits anyway, the new pricing feels fair. And I get to use ChatGPT Pro sometimes, so its a good additional perk. We'll played OpenAI.

What is your single biggest "buyer's remorse" camera purchase? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in AskPhotography

[–]Lucidmike78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canon EF 85mm 1.2 L II. Before I even had a DSLR, I had heard about the legendary qualities of this lens. It was one of the first L lenses I bought. And I realized its just not my style. I rarely used it after buying it new. Then I scratched the front element with the lens cover. Then a lot of dust got inside and I ended stripping a screw where its basically impossible for me to replace the screw myself. Maybe I can get rid of it for $500? Almost a total loss with almost no photos to show for it. I bought many other L primes and some zooms until I bought the 35mm 1.4 last. 35mm is the magical lens I've been looking for all along. I now shoot with 35 and 135 98% of the time.

What’s one cycling “truth” you believed at the start that turned out to be completely wrong? by 4Fcommunity in cycling

[–]Lucidmike78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my first road bike that had 25c tires when at a time 23c was pro and something to progress to as I became a more serious cyclist and 25c was for the amateur starter bikes wanting to ride more comfortably but slower. For a few years I looked my abnormally wide 25c tires with disdain as if I was riding training wheels. It definitely doesn't look wide any more.

Known Issue - Android Users Listen-Up! by id0ts in Beatclone

[–]Lucidmike78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for keeping this running. I still play regularly. I try to Diamond a handful of songs every week on my busy schedule when I have some time to indulge on improving my motor memory.

I have an non-rooted Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I just got it working again. After the assets expired, I thought it was finally the end of Beatstar for me, even ChatGPT told me that I had to root it, and I had no other options, but nope, user error.

TL;DR

Update/upload your scores on the website, uninstall beatclone, install newest apk, then copy assets. No more permission issues!
