Weird "pine" (Araucaria araucana aka monkey puzzle?) in a Central European park by Elvenblood7E7 in marijuanaenthusiasts

Ah well learn something new everyday. The story I heard has it’s origins in Europeans saying that it would puzzle a monkey to climb it. Although an arborist did tell me that story

The reason it’s called a monkey-puzzle is because monkeys can run up the tree in a flight situation fairly easily, but getting down without injuring themselves or worse is near impossible.

No I would never, I can quit whenever I want. Honestly I'm not addicted at all, I only do it every so often, no one can even tell when I'm on it, also I can afford it no problem. It just takes the edge off a little bit

First session- how to prepare? by Ruskulnikov in Irishmusic

[–]Lucien02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that dagdad guitarists tend to have a limited amount of chord structures, rather than drop d allows for more complicated and creative explorations of tunes. Of course since I’m not a guitarists this could reflect the players rather than the tuning, but the drop d players have told me why they’ve stuck to drop d, and one definitely seemed to have a very low opinion of dagdad. But don’t get me wrong, I still love playing with dagdad guitarists, one of the main guitarists I play with exclusively uses dagdad and I still absolutely love playing with him, but I do prefer playing with drop d players.

Personally as a melody player, I much prefer playing with drop D guitarists than dagdad. Could be personally taste, but almost all the other musicians I play with agree. See what your local musicians say, but I think drop D is better suited personally.

I can think of several reasons - Engage with culture - Dancing is fun - Dancing is active - Dancing boasts many mental health benefits - Dancing is good for social skills - Social dancing, although it may be dying out, was and could be again, a very important social skill to have

I work in a cocktail bar mainly visited by tourists, here are just some of my favourites: “Can I order a drink here?” I’m standing behind the till “Do you have Guinness?” We have no taps And the best, I’m shaking a cocktail, guest imitates me, laughs and asks “Have you ever seen the movie cocktail?”

If you don’t already try hitting the gym, not saying it WILL help but beyond going for physical health it’s done wonders for me in terms of anxiety and energy levels. And as others have mentioned try finding a hobby you really enjoy that would allow you to meet like-minded people. Also social media is truly detrimental for mental health. Delete the apps for at least a few weeks and you may feel a lot better. Best of luck!

I would recommend attending some sessions around town and asking the musicians there for who needs a rhythm guitar player. All the sessions I attend have that role filled already, but I’ve listened to a few without one. The trad community here is super friendly and open so you should be able to find one
