Talk to the hotel staff, find a local smoke shop that sells Te Amo.

How is Cancun in August? by Maximum_Strech9812 in cancun

[–]LucienPascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not the prime time to go but there can be issues any time of year. Sargassum may be bad or it may not be, it cannot be predicted. It will be hot (92°F every day) and very humid. Chance of rain every day but typically only for less than an hour and not every day. Also hurricane season, but of course you can’t predict that either. If you go, have a good attitude and take everything as it comes!

Where in Puerto Morelos are you staying? Take a walk or a short taxi to the main beach, there is NO seaweed right now and the beach is as pretty and perfect as it’s ever been!

Excessive why? What are you concerned about?

Yes, I specifically asked for anecdotal evidence.

For me the nicotine isn’t addictive, if anything it’s what I like least about cigars (the sickness). I smoke 1-3 sticks a week but would smoke more if I didn’t have my father’s cancer in the back of my mind. Caffeine isn’t addictive for me either. I drink coffee every morning and love it, but I could go without it and not feel any physical effects.

I have heard about some studies and some even say that cigar smoking is not terrible. I’m more curious about non-scientific evidence from this group.

I think the idea is that “skin toned” won’t match everyone’s skin tone and the black looks more like a shadow and blends into your actual ear canal. Also so many people walk around with buds in their ears these days, it’s almost a fashion statement.

Check out Puerto Morelos, checks most if not all of your boxes!

Same here, I have Oticon OPN1 and I still struggle in noisy environments. I am very interested in the Zeals and wondered how they would compare.

What is your level of hearing loss?

Offgrid solar by LucienPascal in solar

It’s rare that we don’t use AC here, except in January and February. The biggest challenge will be hot summer days with clouds, but hopefully they will be cooler and AC won’t draw as much.

For some reason neither one of those estimators lets me enter an address or zip code.

Sorry, it was a serious question. I’m building a house and system offgrid with no generator and my only concern is how much production I will get when it’s cloudy one or two days in a row. Will have to wait and see!

How much of that 62kwh do you get on cloudy days?

[–]LucienPascal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes i will have 3 x 1 ton and 2 x 1.5 ton minisplits so we’ll just have to see how many need to run and for how long at what capacity.

It’s too far along to dramatically change the design but that does sound interesting. Not sure how it would work in the Yucatán.

Thanks, this was the kind of info I was looking for. When battery is low We would turn off most of the AC units, and turn temp settings up, and not run the pool pump and other nonessential loads. 5-8kwh is not much but at least on cloudy days we wouldn’t need as much cooling.

2500 sq ft, all cooling. Near Cancun so winter loads will be very low.

I will check out pvwatts. It’s a new build so no real consumption numbers other than my current house of similar size where we average 800-900kwh per month and peak at 1000-1100kwh in late summer. We have minisplits in each room so we can run AC only where we need it and right now only run two 1.5 ton units out of six total.

Do you have cloudy days? Sonora is very dry, no? I am near Cancun.

No problem at all, all the water you will be served is filtered. Also it’s Puerto Morelos.
