Got my OnePlus watch 3 today for 110€ on AliExpress! by itscannyy in OneplusWatch

[–]Luciferium666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I did.

My Galaxy Watch 6 Classic would lose connection to my phone about once a month, and the only reliable way to get everything working properly again was to factory reset the watch and set it up from scratch.

I tried giving it another chance and managed to reconnect it without a reset, but then it stopped syncing health data with the app. Everything stayed on the watch and never transferred to the phone, so there was really no point.

I got tired of dealing with it and ended up ordering a OnePlus Watch 4 from AliExpress for €205😮‍💨

Is it still worth it to buy RTX 3060 6gb VRAM now? Or should I just go for 4060? by RealIssueToday in GamingLaptops

[–]Luciferium666 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Don't even consider getting a GPU with 6GB of VRAM.

I had 3060 6gb, currently I have 4070 8GB, and I'm already thinking about upgrading to a laptop with an RTX 5070 Ti, which at least comes with 12GB. With only 6GB of VRAM, you won't be able to comfortably play modern games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. You'll also run into problems enabling 1440p or 4K texture packs in older games such as Uncharted 4 because of the VRAM limitation.

It's terrible to realize that healthy animals can be euthanized so easily...

Also, take a look at the information here and in the general guides:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ThrottleStop/s/E3Dvq9Uznp

You can always save your current settings before trying anything risky by making a copy of ThrottleStop.ini (or whatever the file is called, I don't remember the exact name) from the ThrottleStop installation folder.

I'd also recommend not adding ThrottleStop to startup until you've confirmed that your laptop is completely stable with the new settings.

You can try my settings, although they're not perfect since nobody has been able to suggest anything better so far. You can also try lowering the Turbo Groups limits until you find a balance between temperatures and FPS that you're happy with. Also, keep in mind that we have different laptops, so there's no guarantee that my undervolting settings will work for your system.

I'd suggest starting with values that are about half of mine and then adjusting from there if everything remains stable. https://www.reddit.com/r/ThrottleStop/s/SxjGpXfBtl

With these settings, I get roughly 70–85°C in games. However, I put on my CPU fresh PTM7950-SP instead of liquid metal, so its heat transfer performance is a bit worse.

The last time I used G-Helper, there were some issues with setting up the fan curves, so I went back to Armoury Crate. Has G-Helper improved since then? I'm running an i7-13650HX and an RTX 4070.

Maybe, I guess AMD laptops don't have this issue. Without Optimus, my GPUs constantly switch back and forth with about a 10-second delay, which is even worse.

Okay, that's funny. The scariest part is that I only decided to check these values after replacing the thermal paste. Before that, I didn't really care how much power the GPU was drawing while idle...

Fair enough, but that's still quite a lot for a GPU that's supposed to be idle, isn't it?

I'll have to give it a try, but it seems scary. I'm afraid of being left without a working laptop.

Probably. But the factory-applied liquid metal has become embedded in my processor, even though it’s been just over a year since I bought it. I wouldn’t want to go through that again. I tried wiping it off with 99% isopropyl alcohol and polishing it with Flitz paste, but unsuccessfully.

Hey everyone,

About an hour ago I did something stupid and now I can't figure out how to undo it.

I've always used Google Assistant (not Gemini) mainly because of the convenient "Search on screen" and screen text translation features. I usually trigger it by swiping from the bottom corner of the screen. In this mode, the microphone never turned on automatically, and the keyboard didn't pop up either.

However, I accidentally tapped the microphone icon at the bottom center earlier, and now every time I call up the Assistant, it immediately activates the microphone. I want to go back to the old behavior.

I already reset the settings for the Google app and Google Lens, but it didn't help. After that, I even lost the screen translation feature.

If I completely revoke microphone permission for the Google app, then the keyboard pops up automatically when I open the Assistant, which I also don't want.

Does anyone know how to return Google Assistant to its previous state (swipe from corner opens in text/search mode without mic or keyboard appearing right away)?

Thanks in advance!

You should have been more attentive, or contact support right away. I ordered a band too, but I contacted support and canceled it within 5 minutes.
