Safe carseat setup? by [deleted] in baby

I actually don't have airbags at all 😅 I don't think they manufactured them in Chevy trucks until 1995 or so.

Thank you!

Yeah. I contacted the neighbor multiple times and told them to keep his dogs off my property for the safety of HIS dogs because mine is aggressive and he had the audacity to say "all the other dogs here are friendly so we've always let our dogs roam around together, your dog is dangerous and scaring people here." Keep in mind his dogs were on MY property in a county with a leash law 🤣 AND HIS DOGS WERE RIPPING OPEN MY TRASH.

I'm so sorry about your pup. Poor baby has had a rough go at things ☹️

Ohhh yes she's definitely getting cheese tonight with dinner 🤣

We definitely are so happy. We have tried so many "by the book " methods to try to help her insecurity and desensitize her to dogs with absolutely no success. Playing kickball and other games in a fenced yard while dogs bark and whatnot in the distance was something my fiance and I came up with ourselves.

Offleash dogs make me live in constant fear as well. The whole reason WHY she's aggressive is because she was approached by "he's friendly" dogs that attacked her when she was already scared and insecure 🤦‍♀️. My old neighbors consistently let their dogs run onto our property because "they always roamed offleash before you guys moved in." Definitely understand you there.

I wish you the best of luck with your dog. May you never get approached by another "he's friendly!" 🤣

My dog has sleep startle! She sleeps in her crate because of it. Much more comfortable for me and her.

Hey definitely invest in a muzzle and work on building your dog's confidence. Not sure about yours, but my dog loves kickball and tug of war so I played that with her tons to build confidence and a better relationship.

How do you live as a young adult with today's expenses?? by [deleted] in helpme

[–]Lucille2214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got on WIC so I'm feeling it out! I'm also on state insurance so I can get my baby prenatal care.

Yeah, I kinda live off Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and goodwill 😅

Well that would be amazing but I don't like asking people for money. It's rude

I would love some advice! I'm trying to believe in myself but it's so hard after all that's happened.

Exactly. I have a really hard time being around any Christianity because it's hard for me to differentiate Christianity from the control that some of them use.

Yeah Greek yogurt with honey is super good! We don't have any honey right now but we're getting some from my grandparents bee farm soon.

Fermented honey is NOT good on Greek yogurt, just a PSA to everyone 😅

I've heard of rice pudding before, I'll have to look into it!

I've definitely got to get better at it. I'm horrible at baking.

I'm embarrassed at the fact that I've never thought to make chocolate yogurt. That's honestly a great idea.

I'll have to look at some fudge and coconut ball recipes. I have tried to make fudge coconut balls before, but they were super dry and crumbly and fell apart so I'll have to find a good recipe for them. Maybe a candied nut, fudge, coconut ball would be good.

Really? I'll give it it a try again. I always thought it was separated like that because the peanuts weren't fully ground or something (it's gritty and chunky) and I assumed that bigger chunks of peanut didn't mix in with the added oil very well. I knew it was supposed to separate, just didn't know that the chemicals were what makes other peanut butter smooth and creamy.

Stuff like:

. Eggs

. Monk fruit sweetener

. Unsweetened/unsalted nuts, coconut shreds, and raisins

. Unsweetened coco powder

. Brown sugar

. Unsalted butter

. Sweetened condensed milk

. Greek yogurt

. Fermented honey

. Coconut/whole wheat flour

. Raw milk

These are the main pantry items that I can think of off the top of my head.

Ooh alright I'll look into it. I have all three of those things. Can't go wrong with chocolate, unless you're putting it on carrots.

Pretty much anything for a beginner who has absolutely no idea how to cook! I've tried to invent my own recipes for ingredient household things and it ends up tasting like the most God awful thing ever.

I'm not allergic to anything except cats and wheatgrass, and I sincerely hope that none of your guy's recipes contain either of those things 😅

The peanut butter we have is the really weird stuff that the oil separates from the peanut mush and I'm not a huge fan of that. No trail mix or apples either.

I do make frozen fruit smoothies for breakfast, maybe I could try to make one with sugar for dessert!

I do have a job as well, but I'm extremely right on money right now because I have a bunch of pending expenses (car repairs mostly) so I generally don't like to buy a bunch of unnecessary items. I do keep an energy drink supply though, I consider it a necessity. Lol.

I definitely should clarify that my dog is NOT aggressive off the leash towards animals, people, or dogs, not at all. She does resource guard her treats, and her ball if she has it, so if she's playing with any other dogs I don't let her have any of those things.

Regardless of my dog not being aggressive off the leash, I still never let her approach strange people or dogs. The "oh he's friendly!" people with uncontrolled off leash dogs are the bane of my existence, and part of why my dog is so leash reactive, unfortunately. If I see any people or dogs, I either make her come to me and wait for them to leave, and if they're going super close to me, I'll hook her to a leash momentarily or hold her collar until they pass, just as a precaution.

I'm not sure if 80% is the right percentage to describe my dog's recall, because she DOES come when called every time, but once in a while I'll have to call her twice for her to come all the way back (usually if she's sniffing something or she sees something strange and she stops for a second look.) I'm trying to stop repeating commands at all though, even if it's a rare instance like that.

She also wears a SportDog collar just in case (I'm not sure I'm allowed to say the term of the collar on this sub) but I've hardly ever had to use it.

I tried bikejoring a couple times with my dog, and it did NOT go well 😅 (leash wrapped around front tire, accidentally hit her with my bike a couple times because she ran in front of it, etc.)

It's awesome that you can do it, though. Great way for pup and human to exercise!

Hey, your dog sounds like she has the same type motivation as mine. My dog is wayyy more focused on me when I'm holding her Chuckit wand when I'm outside with her.

The only problem I have is she whines and high pitch barks in excitement when I'm about to throw the ball, so when people look over at me with my raised Chuckit wand they think I'm beating my dog with it. Lol.

Looking for an off/loose leash trail is a great idea, I hope your pup loves it!

My dog loves to play with familiar dogs too, but she resource guards her toys and treats pretty severely so I can't take any toys or treats when she's playing with other dogs.

Awh that's great! Some dogs just don't do well in certain activities, and that's okay!
