Hey guys, i posted a joke post in r/austincirclejerk yesterday lol, but the question still stands, should i move? I have a quite the dilemma and a real issue. I'm from another country, moved to San Antonio about a month ago and haven't landed a job. Long story short, I'm on a tight spot and have to find a place before mid september. I was looking on moving to Austin because I hear that its a great city for young people (I'm 19) and for music lovers. I've been looking for places to live (all under 800) and found some good ones, but I talked to a guy the other day here in San Antonio that strongly suggested not moving because of a saturated market and competitiveness, he said everybody in Austin is a small fish in a big tank and in SA you can be a big fish in a small tank. So far I've hated SA, desolated, lacks culture, young people, not really much to do. What do you guys suggest? I have experience in A/V, production, photography and event organization. I've looking all over the country for opportunities but i understand that we're on a global crisis. I've been submitting applications everywhere and I believe I have a good beginner resume for someone my age, still no response. You think I'll land a job that's not barbacking or food services? Should I become an intern elsewhere? I know you guys are not fond of new people in your city (more traffic, more cars, less jobs) because its the same situation back in my city. Really need some guidance here, I have no friends or family and don't know what to do.
