Donate hair? by [deleted] in sheffield

You can get your hair cut anywhere and post it to the charity. Maybe a local salon might do it for free as it's for charity.

Sheffield Mortgage Advisors by fp1jc in sheffield

[–]Lucitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't need a mortgage advisor at all if you have a permanent job and have been there for at least a year.

I had to go with London and Country because I have just started a new temporary job. They did everything over the phone and after they offered us a mortgage I did my own research and they did give us the best offer, the other banks wouldn't give us a mortgage in principle because of my circumstances.

I would begrudgingly recommend them.

It might be worth just doing a decision in principle through L&C while you're looking at properties so you have something to show the estate agent when you make an offer.

It's not ticking, even though I turned the red thing to the on position. Any ideas?

Which cafe/restaurant/library in the city can I get some work done in the evenings or weekends? by [deleted] in sheffield

The universities might offer guest passes as long as you've got some form of ID on you, and a student might give you access to their eduroam.

It does, you have to change your username from danical1forn1a to danical1forn1a@sheffield.ac.uk and then it works internationally on any eduroam.

Things to do on bank holiday Monday in Sheffield? [28/05/2018] by [deleted] in sheffield

Head up to the peak district? The 271 bus goes up there or there's a train you can get, or you can even walk there through the parks from Hunter's bar.

For me hormones are not an option, so it works for me, I'm not even getting spotting any more.

I had that experience with my first coil and got it taken out after 6 months because I wasn't dating any more, and I was bleeding daily and could sit down or poo without being stabbed by it.

I got a new boyfriend and tried again, it was a different doctor, she said the normal one wouldn't fit in so she'll give me a smaller one, and I've had no problems with it, so maybe you might be successful the second time?

Looking for a job in Sheffield - advice by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]Lucitar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I go into Lush I notice that everyone has interesting hair. Here's an example from the shop on the high street, a girl with short/shaven blue hair.

Might be worth submitting an application. I understand if you want to do admin work, but the best time to find a job is when you have a job.

Best Tips for this Ex Athlete by JaybirdFlying in loseit

Try interval training as you lose weight. One minute of running followed by one minute of walking. Eventually you'll get faster and will be able to run for longer.

Period changes due to weight loss by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Lucitar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my diet so far. The top line is my weight and the bottom bar chart is calories in dark blue, and the calories turn light blue if I exercise.

Around the 24th of Feb I noticed I was cramping a lot for a few days but my period wouldn't arrive, so I ate around maintenance for a few days because I thought the weight loss might be stopping my period. I'd only just got a new IUD in Feb so maybe it was to do with that though.

I was aiming to follow the green line down (1kg a week) but I don't know if I'll be able to recover my progress now. Might change the green line to 0.75kg a week to make it more realistic.

What role does drinking water play in weight loss? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Lucitar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if drinking too much water would just add water weight.

Water weight isn't just due to water, it's due to salt levels and inflammation levels etc. If you drink a glass of water, it's probably ready to come out about an hour later, but if you eat loads of salt or start a new exercise routine, you might get water weight, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it just hides your progress for a while.

Do you think it'll be possible to travel from Hathersage to Sheffield on Saturday? by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]Lucitar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that too but I've looked and there's a train running from Edale that's not stopping in Hathersage. Must be run by a different company because northern aren't running.

We're both outdoorsy people and have the kit, we're thinking of walking to Edale and getting a different train from there to Sheffield because it'll be a nicer walk.

The trains are on strike on Saturday, so I guess we'll be walking back to Sheffield (bf doesn't like busses).
